A very nice and interesting story. I love the university setting. Sometimes I missed some details, of whole passages, because it all went a bit too quick. But overall the main plot was clear and captivating. I'm looking forward to part two.

This book felt like 10 different side quests. Although I did enjoy it, it never really sucked me into the story. I liked Kasia, I liked the role of Baba Yaga, I disliked the romance. The final story about the queen felt a bit forced and random. All in all not bad, just all over the place.

This one was a little disapointing compared to the other two. It all just happened so quickly and yet not a lot of new things were going on. The ending felt way too abrupt. It was still really nice, but it had more potential.

I eventually became really interested in the story, but only around half of the book. The ending was great and had thrilling plottwists, but overall, I had the feeling I was constantly missing information. This might have been intentional, but doesn't have my preference. The usage of Arabic (I think) words and names added to the story, but made it harder to follow. I do want to continue the series though!

I don't think I've ever even thought this, but the TV series were better. There were way too many characters, who did of said funny things that envolved the plot, but had no substance. It was however easy to follow, and I moderatly enjoyed the time, but I expected more. Maybe if I read it before I saw the series it would have been better, but we'll never know.

Very cute. The bickering of the nurse and the naiverty of Rambo annoyed me quite a bit. But the journey they went on made it a lot better. I loved the Pinocchio references, especially the part about consience. I wouldn't read the book again very soon, but I had a nice time. I loved the ace representation!

While it took me a while to get into the story and the world, it turned out to be quite a nice book. The magic system and the school are still beyond vague and weird, but it worked well in the story. I liked the MC, but didn't like her relation to others. I hope the sequels dive more into her powers.
Side note- I was pleasantly surprised by the occasional second person writing style!

It took a while to get into the book. It began very slowly, and the magic system was confusing until the end. New characters also just came into view without explanation or introduction. The ending was nice though, and overall I did enjoy the story.

A fun little read. Lots of the plot were predictable and the writing style was very mediocre, but I had fun while reading and the idea is quite nice!

Altough I needed some time in the beginning, the story drew me in. In some passages, I got lost in Marlow's thoughts, but the plot was very clear. I liked the sporadic flashbacks, as well as how they were clear to distinguish.
At the end I felt like it could have gone on for a while longer, which means I read through it quickly. That's always a good sign. The only downpart now is waiting for the sequel.

A lot of new information has come to light. This book had me in its grip, and I just needed to continue reading. A few new well written characters also came in. I loved the squad and their feelings for eachother! Andarna made me laugh. I just tremendously enjoyed reading this sequel!

Completely loved it! A few very suprising plot twist. I liked the characters, I liked the speed of the story, the plot was entrancing. The names of the characters and dragons were hard to pronounce, but that‘s definitely not a problem. I‘m eager for the rest of the series!

Cute little Chrismas(-ish) story. There was a lack of plot, but the backstories and long awaited thoughtst made up for it. I'm not a big fan of mutiple POV's, but in this case it had a good reason, which made it work.
All concluded, not my favorite in the series, but a pleasant break from any war or fighting.

I enjoyed how everything came together. These characters have really grown on me, which made some scenes heartbreaking. I didn't quite like the sisters, but I could live with them. I did however like the writing style and the choice of words. The end felt like a nice ending for the series, so I'm curious for the remaining parts.

This was a very comforting read. The book was quite small, which is nice for now and then. I also liked how the disability of the main character wasn't the entire subject of the book.
The plot kept me reading, although there were several moment where I wished things whould have gone a different way, although I guess that's how things work.

Because it was a while ago that I read the previous part, it took me a while to get into the story. But once I did, it was a very absorbing story.
The characters annoyed me sometimes, when they wouldn't just talk to eachother, but I guess people in real life do the same. I also wasn't a fan of the names they had for eachother.
I was however a big fan of the worldbuilding, the plot and the surprises. I'm very eager for the rest of this series!

All these stories about women fascinate me so much. I think it is really a great power to write such a moving story, when there's only the male point of view to go from. My favorite characters were the Gorgon sisters. The book also made me think about "monsters" and about who decides who is called a monster.
Some of the POV's were not really my cup of tea. But the snakes on the other hand made the most emotional chapter.
I'm glad I read this book.

I loved how the story starts in childhood and evolves to years later. I also loved how romance was not the main storyline, altough the love lots of people felt for eachother was clearly there. I could appreciate the map and the pronunciation guide. I'm excited to learn more about the characters and their adventures!

The most scary thing is, that lots of the discussed apps or functions, seem actually quite nice. Obviously should all that stay a choice, and not the only way of living. But this shows how easy it is for people to give in to easy things, instead of us thinking for ourselves.
Anyway, this book made me think, which is a sign of a good book. I liked how Mae played the silent part troughout the story. And Hurricane was just sad...

Het is altijd fijn om een serie af te sluiten! Normaliter ben ik geen fan van zoveel verschillende perspectieven, maar omdat we alle personages al kenden, was het nu wel interessant om wat meer over hen te weten te komen. Het was ook fijn dat alle losse eindjes werden opgelost. Soms duurden passages vrij lang, terwijl belangrijke gebeurtenissen slechts 1 zin in beslag namen. Maar al met al vond ik dit een leuke serie!

Echt een goed vervolg op het eerste deel. Het was fijn dat de verhaallijn doorging, maar ook veel nieuwe aspecten had. De dagboek delen vond ik ook erg interessant. Het was niet erg geloofwaardig dat het daadwerkelijk dagboekfragmenten waren, maar het plot was wel erg boeiend. Dit deel bevatte ook al wat meer praktische magie dan het eerste, wat ik leuk vond. De schrijfstijl blijft tot het laatst prettig om te lezen! Fijn boek!

Mijn verbazing was groot toen dit een Nederlands boek bleek! Dit genre vind je niet vaak in deze taal.
Ik vond het verhaal erg leuk! De Harry Potter invloed leek groot, maar dat stoorde absoluut niet! Soms leken overgangen tussen alinea's een beetje random, maar niet zozeer dat het verhaal niet meer te volgen was. Het plot is spannend, met goede twists en interessante personages. Ik ben erg benieuwd naar de andere delen!

Het was erg leuk om een mysterie te lezen dat zich deels in Nederland afspeelde. Het was echter al vanaf het begin duidelijk hoe het zou aflopen. De enige onverwachtte gebeurtenis was de omslag van Harm, die dan ook zo uit het niks kwam, dat het erg ongeloofwaardig was. Ik vond de opbloemende relatie tussen Thijs en Arianna verschrikkelijk. De delen over Isis waren wel interessant, maar al met al zat er geen spanning in het boek.

This was the first detective I read in a while that didn't make it obvious who did it. I appreciated that! I also liked the locked-room aspect, which was the main reason I chose this. However, the characters weren't very versatile, and everyone was written down as a stereotype of themself. It stil needs to get points for the plot, though. And in its time it probably was a different experience to read.

I really liked the idea behind this book. It was a great way to combine characters from other literary works. I loved the feminism and how the girls took their fate into their own hands.
The plot was nothing too special. Amusing, yet not really suprising. The writingstyle didn't do it for me. It felt very childish, which didn't agree with the characters. For this reason I probably won't read the sequels, although I would be interested in the plot.

Although I liked it a little bit less than the first part, I almost couldn't put away this book. There was just a bit too much blabber between Matthews friends. Matthew himself was also not always the nicest guy around. But Diana's part was obviously very nice to read. It must have been so cool to live in the 16th century for some time! I'm also quite jealous of her magic dragon and I adored Jack and Annie!

Just amazing. It doesn't happen that often that a book sings this perfectly in harmony with my soul. The story moves at a slow pace, which gives time to describe the ordinary things, like what Diana eats, or how she commutes to work. I absolutely loved the parts in the library, how she requests books, how she handles and takes notes on them. The romance happened a bit too quickly maybe, but every other part makes up for it. Loved, loved, loved it!

Een somber boek.

Soms denk ik dat ik Toon Tellegen volkomen begrijp, en een zin later heb ik geen flauw idee waar hij het over heeft. Dat is denk ik de schoonheid van zijn boeken; iets zo bekends en toch zo abstracts. De krekel ben ik zelf, natuurlijk. Maar de olifant ook, en de mier ook en en de eekhoorn ook. Misschien zijn we allemaal wel alle dieren en komen ze gewoon af en toe tevoorschijn. Om honingtaart te eten.

I didn't know I needed Gods to have horns, but now that I've experienced this book, they can never be without them. I loved how the modern world with phones and computers exists together with not only the Gods living on earth, but also certain things in Greek mythology that hadn't happend yet in this book.
Romance is for sure not my genre. Why are the two lovers so often angry with eachother? But I did really like the mythology aspect in the book!

The story about a young, poor woman who had to invent her own life and fight for her right to exist, was touching. The way of describing life in medivial times seemed very real. Altough I liked the book, I wouldn't want to read it again very soon. The characters didn't give me anything new of special that couldn't be given to me by any other random book. But still, I can't say anything particulary bad about the book. It was just fine.

I liked this book! I liked the factor of the night and the stars and moon. I liked all the talking about dreaming, lucid or not. I really liked the initial research of Keller, about the multiverse happening in your subconciousness. I also enjoyed the writing style and the switching between moments in time.

I think I would want to read it all again eventually, knowing what I know now, to see all the signs and the foreshadowing.

I was moved by this book. It took me about one and a half husbands to get in to the story. It started out feeling like a cheap chick-flit. But Evelyn's actions made at least a good story. Her true love was touching, of course, and the ending heart breaking. The plot twist at the end made me question the reliability of her as a narrator of her own story, which is something I always enjoy.
This book will stay in my memory for a bit.

I really enjoyed the last two chapters. The rest of the 500 pages i could have done without. There were way too many characters and storylines. It was very nice how everything came together, but it was a very chaotic and sometimes unpleasant journey.
However, I'm still glad I read this. It was satisfying to have everything finally end. I enjoyed this series a lot, but I'm also glad it's over now!

My god, this last plottwist! I am completely shocked. It all makes sense, but in the same way, it never would have crossed my mind. EVER! Very nice, mr. Scott!

The rest of this book was just in the line of expectation. After 5 parts, it still hasn't become boring. I must say there are a lot of characters, and although I like the multiple perspectives, you always have to wait quite long to continue their line. But in the end it's worth it!

Although I missed Scatty, it was still a nice part. Josh is finally able to do magic, I liked having Shakespeare there and it's always nice to have some more time with Perenelle. I also really enjoy the multiple perspectives, so we get to see the good side and the bad side. Gilgamesh could have had some more pages, but he was still a fun part. The ending of the epilogue is very exciting! Looking forward to the next part!

I'm a big fan of Jeanne d'Arc! I'm also a big fan of all the magic and mythology. Josh is a bit whining all the time, but after this ending, it might change. For now I chose to trust Flamel and see him as the good guy, although some of this actions are questionable. Overall, I'm excited to see where the story will take us next!

I read this as a child, and the last few weeks I kept thinking about the idea of aura's and their color and smell, so I had to read this again. As a childrens book I like it, although the time period in which the amount of things happen is quite artificial. But I really enjoyed the reading and am excited for the rest of the series. I'm also very much enjoying the mythological references!

The idea about an apothecary who sells potions was very nice! But that's where the nice things about this book end. I hated Caroline and her storyline. Nella and Eliza were also very shallow. Athough this book was not very long, reading it felt like ages, and not in a good way. It was just about interesting enough for me to finish it, but I will never recommend this to anyone. There could have been a lot more done on this idea. Big bummer!

It's quite interesting to think what you would do with your life if you had endless time, but nobody would remember you. I liked Addie. She seemed really real, like a girl you would've met someday. The plot was kind of predictable, but that didn't make it boring. I wanted to know how Addie would deal with everything. Also I loved the "muse"-aspect. This was not a live-changing-experience read for me, but I still really liked it!

I am not convinced. I really liked the idea of the Doors and all the different worlds. Only around 40% my interest grew a bit, but not a lot. I don't know why I didn't like this book. Nothing is wrong with it. Characters and plot are nice, there is a lot happening, the speed is quite nice. I kept having the feeling it would get better, but it didn't. Still a nice read though, just not more than nice.

After a slow and uncertain beginning, all my wishes came true. From the beginning of part 2, I never stopped having goosebumps. Amazing characters, great plot, lot's of happenings and twist, detailed historical facts. The message about women and their power moved me immensly. I want to meet these women, and learn their ways. I want, no, I need to be a witch.

This book intrigued me a lot. In the beginning I had difficulties with understanding the world, but after a while everything became so logical. I can't say I understand all the methaphors, nor what exactly happened in Piranesi's head, but I grew to care about him. It was interesting to see the backstory unwhirl, before he did himself. I also kinda want to visit the House, but just for a very little while.
Loved it!

I started this book without having read the synopsis, so everything came as a suprise. Although I didn't like how things ended and it also took me a while to get into the story, I really enjoyed it! It's a great way of looking at the "beyond" and the meaning of life. It could have done without the romance, but the character development was really nice, as were the relationships formed. This book felt as a comfort-read and made me feel good!
