Didn‘t finish my reading challenge this year cause I got a Nintendo Switch been playing games instead of reading
It took me a bit to get into this one. However, once I did I was totally invested. There is a lot going on in this and at times I felt confused, but then Sarah J Maas wrapped it all up so well in the latter half. Trust the process. It is a great book and I choked up at the ending. I‘m sad that there are only two more books in this series.
My new project piece. It came with three shelves, but they need to be braced. I also can add more shelves. After I fix it up I think it will be a nice little addition.
Also, ignore the junk I‘ve not lived here long so I still have a lot of unpacking to do. 🤦♀️
All I want to do is sit around and read this series. Binx has other plans...
Tonight I am celebrating Book Lover‘s Day by reading as much as I can in Empire of Storms. I have put all my chores on hold. I plan to have a guilty pleasure meal and drink my favorite tea. What are y‘all reading?
My husband and I are heading to Nashville, Tennessee next week so a quick vacation. If anyone has any book recommendations for traveling let me know! Also, I‘d love to get some recommendations on things to do in Nashville!
Oh Aelin, you scheming, brave, brilliant mind. Knocked this one out today after starting it on vacation Monday. This one was a thrill ride, for sure. Manon Blackbeak gots my heart.🖤 I reserved Tower of Dawn today, so another agonizing wait for a few days until I get it. Thankfully, I have 3 other books in my personal library that I‘ve been working through.
Lysandra is my queen! Elide took a long time to grow on me but she is now up there with my favs. Aelin and Rowan are probably one of the greatest parts of this book but nothing comes close to that mind inside of Aelin‘s head. There were so many challenges and battles our group had to face. The best part of this entire thing though was how much of Aelin‘s past really played such a huge role in all of it!

Book 5 is done. Starting to feel a little burnt out. I don't know if it is because the books are so long. I am enjoying the series and don't know if I should read a lighter book and than jump back into the series. I have read the first 5 books in the series in 5 days. (2,725 pages!) Trying to decided what I should do!
My compulsion to finish books/series even if I‘m not loving it can sometimes pay off. It has with this, book 5 in the Throne of Glass series. I liked the first 2, didn‘t love the second 2, but kept going and this book was my reward. The story is fast paced, has lots of thrilling reveals, and the characters are at a point where I really care about so many of them. I‘m now invested! Two more books to go and this one ends on a HUGE cliffhanger!
I really cannot stop creating for this fandom. I love the stories so much and cannot seem to get them out of my mind. 💜 If you like my art please come take a look around.

The good: The book picks up right were Queen of Shadows leaves off and picks up the pace. The world building and descriptions are voluminous, evocative, and immersive.
Overall, the writing, as usual, is strong, the characters are generally likable, and I want to find out what happens, but the book loses a star for forcing plot points and the massive change of tone leaning too heavily on sexy scenes.
I knew how it was going to end, and it still broke my heart and made me cry.
All my favorite writers weave their stories intricately, tying together little bits and pieces to form a masterpiece of an ending. Maas has proven that she, too, can leave tiny tidbits of clues that she connects into grandeur revealed at the very end. A cunning end, based on how this 5th installment concluded. She is quickly rising to the top if my favorites list.
