Miracle Springs, North Carolina, is a place of healing. Strangers flock here hoping the natural hot springs, five-star cuisine, and renowned spa can cure their ills. Thats Noras special talentprescribing the perfect novel to ease a persons deepest pain and lighten their heaviest burden. When a visiting businessman reaches out to Nora for guidance, she knows exactly which novels will help. But before he can keep their appointment at Miracle Books, hes found dead on the train tracks. Stunned, Nora forms the Secret, Book, and Scone Society, a group of damaged souls yearning to gain trust and earn redemption by helping others. To join the society, members must divulge their darkest secretthe terrible truth that brought each of them to Miracle Springs in the first place. Determined to uncover the truth behind the businessmans demise, the women meet in Noras cramped and cozy bookstore to share stories and trade support. Great audiobook ! A little slow at first but interesting. Very much a cozy read- not a action packed murder mystery as the last series I read, but still enjoyable.

This will probably be the last book I finish for #CozyInTheSun - it was fun reading cozy‘s in July.

This book was fun with all of the book quotes and mentioning of books. Some I‘ve read and some I haven‘t! The mystery was good. I loved all of the women meeting, sharing their secrets, and building a friendship and relationships.

I actually went running 2 times this week and didn‘t have field hockey again.

I need to lengthen my runs for the final week. We have a Obstacle 5k coming up and I don‘t want to be dying the whole time! Especially with it being August!

Finished 3 books, but no audiobooks 🤷🏻‍♀️ - I‘m still working on the tagged book. I‘m loving all the bookish references

The #cozymystery genre is not my usual cup of tea, so I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed this book. It would be a great palate cleanser in between heavier literary reads.

Set in WNC, near Asheville, I could relate to the atmospheric setting (my guess is it is inspired by Hot Springs, NC), and loved the MC‘s talent of bibliotherapy, a modality I didn‘t even know existed, and now want to incorporate into my coaching practice!

Caterina Good to know, I've been considering reading this one even though I also don't usually read cozy mysteries! It had me at book and scones. 😍 You're almost there with your book goals, great job!! 6mo

Book club is in 4 hours, and I‘m only halfway through! Pretty sure I won‘t be finishing in time. 😬

After a brief rain shower on my walk this afternoon, the ☀️ came out in full force. So I made strawberry mango slushees as an after school snack for Maya and I! So good and only 4 ingredients: 🥭 🍓 ice and sparkling water. If it wasn‘t a no-sugar day, I would have added a bit of honey, too. #bookfitnesschallenge

4thhouseontheleft @Stacy_31 Oohh, I bet strawberry lime would be delicious! I also like watermelon and basil, and just mango by itself. I think raspberry kiwi would be good, but haven't tried that one yet. 6mo
4thhouseontheleft @catebutler The book discussion was great! I was surprised we had so much to talk about with a cozy mystery, but that might just be my bias against cozies shining through. 😂 6mo
Stacy_31 Watermelon and basil sounds delicious! Have you tried pineapple? I‘m not a fan of mango on its own. I wonder how the two would taste. These are so refreshing, they‘re going to be wonderful for summer. 😊😊 6mo

Decided to bail after chapter 6. It had all the right stuff -- bibliophilia, female friendship, murder -- but somehow it didn't come together the way I had been hoping. I called it when I encountered the trope of otherwise smart women playing dumb and using sexuality to get what they want. Not for me.

This was not the mystery for me. There are a lot of heartbreaking issues discussed in this, so I think it‘s more substantial than a cozy mystery plot wise. But, I never warmed to the main character Nora, despite her being a former librarian and ultimate book lover. I probably won‘t continue the series. #unpopularopinion

mabell I didn‘t care for the tagged book, so I thought from the blurb this one wouldn‘t be for me either. Like you said, much weightier issues than one would expect or desire in a cozy (at least for me.) Thank you for your review; it appears that my suspicions were correct! 9mo
