Dreamer the Strange is my #currentread . If you're into steampunk and the Ink and Bone series, then you will like this book. I always thought Romeo and Juliet was a little absurd. Two 13 year olds fall in love in 2 weeks then commit suicide because their parents cannot get along. Shakespeare had a flair for the dramatics so I shouldn't be surprised that a retelling would be just as absurd. Elise and Jamey's story burdened my spirit because it's not at all a true image of love. I was very disappointed by the vulgarity. #bookreview #whitefur #bookworm #bookish

It's not often that I give books 5- star ratings, but I loved this retelling of The Phantom is the Opera! It was so perfect, it read like a continuation of the original story. If you haven't read the original, that's okay. The author gives you enough background details for the story to make sense. It put me in the mood to read more macabre.

I devoured One of Us is Lying in 3 days. To briefly sum it up: it's The Breakfast Club, but one of them is murdered. I enjoyed this read because it was a nice change from my usual fantasy novels. Side note: It looking so good on my rocking chair, I had to take a pic.

This was a quick and fun summer read.
I enjoyed the YA novel metaphors and Harry Potter references. I can relate to Nora's insecurities. It wrapped up quickly, but I didn't mind because sometimes it's nice to finish a book in 2 days.

I respect that more books are coming out to bring awareness to mental illness. It's definitely a topic that needs to be taken more seriously. Asleep is a retelling of sleeping beauty set in an asylum. The writing is spooky and creepy. Finding Audrey is another good one that touches on anxiety. Can you name any more books with a character with a mental illness?

I stayed up late the other night finishing A Million Junes, and I absolutely loved it. You've probably seen this cover floating around the bookernet so I'll tell you a little bit about it. It's a YA retelling of Romeo and Juliet with a ghost story mixed in. Other than the dialogue being a bit cheesy, I was really hooked on the plot and couldn't wait for the mystery to be solved.
