I know it was a love story & that it would have a happy ending. (I haven't seen the movie) What makes it different is that its not a love story that starts away like most of them do. It starts out with a person trying to find themselves after literally loosing everything & trying to get through it all. It approached first of finding yourself thro grief & then still being able to love everything more or less round you.

I know it toke me good while to read, it was mainly how detailed it was. I wanted to absorb it all in. It's a good combo of modern day writing and the writing of old. However, I learned so much from different views of people that experienced that time. It just shows that nothing is what it seems, expect love itself. Which is what I think the author was trying to say...

A quick read and a page turner. I was only abled to stop reading it in one go or/and reading it wayyyy past when I needed to sleep for work by ONLY letting myself read it while donating blood/plasma. It made the donation period feel a lot faster than it actually was. I've never read anything from Neil Gaiman before so I now see why everyone seems to love him. This book made it extremely relatable while also being whimsical. Thank you.

Using this 3 hr marathon to make a dent into Cold Mountain. I normally read 2 different books at the same time. 1 for while I'm donating plasma and 1 for everything else. I've been burning thro the books I have saved for my donating sessions but haven't made a dent in the other tbr file. #bookcommunity #3hrmarathon

Just got this in the mail from a book exchange. Any thoughts (without spoilers)? I'm seeing it's a series and debating on diving into it. Thanks in advance!

I finally finished this section of the story. It's been on my slow burner for awhile so it feels bittersweet that I finished it. Out of the books of this series so far, it's my least favorite. From the hobbit to the 1st book we get this hype of constant adventure. However, this book has the adventure, it's just slowed down by a little. It's the whole gathering b4 the storm/battle which I get and weridly like. Hint the bittersweetness to it.

So this book along with the whole lord of the rings trilogy I've been slow burning. I keep running into wise and amazing sayings that just make me go, "WHOA." Both are my reads when I need enlightenment in some way. I have another book that I'm reading purely to escape from reality.
Have you guys ever noticed that as you age, the reasons that we read just slightly change?

Trying to juggle multiple reads. One of the 3 is easy cause it being more illustrations. Still hard to do since it's been years since I've tried reading this many at one time.

I'm changing my weekly walking goal from 10k weekly to 5k.
Book count is changing to 3.

wanderinglynn Great job! 🙌🏻 And way to adapt your goals because you hit the most important part, not quitting. And I‘d recommend some self-care too since you have a lot going on with both school and work. 💜 5y

I know I'm a day or 2 late but here is my weekly process for #BFC #bookfitnesschallenge. Tried hiking Mt evans and since there's little to no cell reception all I have proof is pics. Books read since challenge = 1. Sixth day at work so I say it's been a busy week.

So this book as you already probably know is a great book. It was a reread for me through but I forgot everything that I read in middle or high school when I original read it.
It's a great stand alone book from Tolkien's Lord of the Rings series. It does however goes with the Lord of Rings series.
Must read!

Overall the book was good. It was interesting because it's Tolkien's 1st known written work even if it's unfinished. If you like Tolkien and getting to understand how 1 of the greatest authors became to be then it's a must read.
It's hard to read but so worth it.

Taking a break from the other Tolkein book I've been reading to reread this 1. The 1 I've been reading is more textbooky while the hobbit is the complete opposite. Just learning and enjoying the different sides of Tolkien this week. Learning so much from this author!

This book was overall good. Think it would've been nice to read the version that was published before the movies because the copy I was reading had mostly a chapter referring to the movie.
I haven't seen the movie so the only reason why I didn't stop is cause the artist in me was curious on their 4D Design secrets they were willing to share. Which wasn't much. Besides that bump it was a good book. :)

Duma Key: A Novel | Stephen King

This book hit so close to home it was scary. However, it was one of those reads that helped me actually see that my life isn't really all that bad.

Reason why it hit home is cause I'm an artist and I just recently broke my right elbow,(it's the 1 I draw with), and well art is my life. King did a good job, it's not his greatest but it allowed to help out ppl going thro physical disabilities which is amazing!
Overall good read! :)
