A book with wildly varying short stories; all well written but so different in tone. Much to my surprise, I found myself on #teamzombie by the end
I always feel like compilation books are hit or miss. I have yet to read one that I like all the short stories inside. I would say I liked maybe half of the stories. For me it was #teamzombie
Book 15 of 2019
I really enjoyed all the variations in the different stories. It really illustrates how different people can take a similar idea and make it their own.
Well if not for the sticker this would be a cool book cover. Oh well, gonna try this book while I wait for my ridiculously long sign in time for our shared office computer 🙄
I had no idea what this book was when I picked it up. The title just intrigued me! I loved it though. So many different takes on two very common creatures in literature and I didn‘t dislike a single one. Team zombie all the way!!
#screamsbymail folk! We have two turns and then the rotation is complete. Who is up for round two?
I couldn‘t pass up these beauties I found at Half Price Books while shopping for my niece‘s birthday and my giveaway winner!
Got to love a colorful stack!
Hopefully I will get both packages in the mail tomorrow!
This was a collection of compelling and varied stories. My favorite by far was "Bougainvillea" by Carrie Ryan. I have to say that I think Team Zombie came out as the victor...
Such a random book, that I simply couldn‘t pass it up at the thrift store. $0.50 well spent, I would say. 😂
I love this book cover
Nothing like trying to finish all my schoolwork and stuff from work so I can finally read some part of a book that's not a textbook...
(Picture is not my artwork but 1 I found)
Zombies Vs Unicorns was an awesome introduction to some fantastic authors, some amazing story telling and so many fresh takes on both Unicorns and zombies. Naomi Novik here I come!
Yesterday's thrift store book haul. It's been a hefty vacation week of book buys but I'm okay with that.
There were a few stories that I really liked and the rest I was pretty neutral about. But none of them were bad, in my opinion.
. . . I'm hearing [him] whisper my name, just like he did last fall, like instead of grabbing him by the shoulders and kissing him I'd waved my arms and conjured lightning out of a blue sky.
My granddaughter LOVES Zombies. I'm thrilled to find A Little Life #credittolitsy. And The Girl in 6E is compared to Dexter. Love this used bookstore, I HAD to post this photo before leaving the parking lot.
Anyone else seen Santa Clarita Diet on Netflix? It watches like one of these short stories read! I've seriously enjoyed this collection and this show the is perfect TV pairing!
Did I just buy some Unicorn Snot lip gloss to go with my Unicorn Snot glitter gel? Too right I did! 2017 is going to be covered in glitter, Littens! #midnightbookgirl #howbookwormsparty #newyearseve #littens
For a #titlestartingwithxyz, I thought I'd pick something that's been in my Nook library forever. #seasonsreadings2016 #LitsyAtoZ #titlesstartingwithxyz
Finished these books in five days and going back to the library to get more
I wanted to love this book, it seemed right up my alley. However, to me these stories made little sense. I think I am just too old to enjoy this.
Well this look's fun!
Has anyone read this? I'm not going to lie, I read the intro of authors bantering over weather zombies or unicorns were better and it was hilarious. The whole book seems pretty awesome. It's a bunch of short stories alternating between sweet unicorn stories and decaying zombie stories written by top fantasy writers like Garth Nix, Cassandra Clare, Scott Westerfeld, and a bunch more. Anyway, I'm totally team unicorn and I'm really excited about it.
I used to think that every published author was a better writer than me. Thank you Zombies vs. Unicorns for proving me wrong multiple times in the same book.
For today's #somethingforsept, the #shortstory collection which has caused me to be on the receiving end of more weird looks in the cardiology waiting room than all the other books I've brought over the last decade, combined. 😂 Apparently I am the only heart patient around here who finds zombies and unicorns entertaining...?
If you like zombies, read this book!
If you like unicorns, read this book!
The stories are so different and there's bound to be one that you love and read over and over! I love the Gay zombie story personally. It was refreshing to pick up this book(team unicorn) and get a couple of LGBT characters in these amazing short stories!
This book was very entertaining, if not particularly educational
