I started this years ago, but after loving Evelyn Hugo so much I wasn‘t fully into it. Decided to give it a go again, since the show is coming soon. Listening to the audio of it too. A little over halfway & liking it much more. #52bookclub23 #abookeveryonehasread
I was also really sick this past week, so have not felt much like reading at all. And have been missing all of you! ❤️ Ready to get back on track.
New teaser trailer AND “Regret Me” single released! I need the full soundtrack, like, right now.

didn‘t quite hit the mark for me. the oral history format was great, and I did like the ending. but I didn‘t really like or care about any of the characters (other than Simone, the best friend we all deserve - but she wasn‘t in the book nearly enough). the drama within the band was entertaining, but it didn‘t really feel like there was an actual plot. I‘m still going to check out the tv series in March!

Taylor Jenkins Reid is becoming one of my must read authors. One of my friends recommended this book and said to read it as an audiobook and it was the best audiobook I‘ve ever listened to. The characters were phenomenal, the story felt like it was so real, and the ending is what sealed it in for me that this is now one of my favorite books!!

You do sometimes sit and wonder why it wasn‘t you, what makes you so special that you get to be safe. The world doesn‘t make much sense.
First book club pick of the year and I really enjoyed it. I‘m not sure if it‘s based on a real band but it wouldn‘t surprise me if it was
Published in 2019, so I‘m not surprised to learn a film is already in production. This oral history of a fictional rock band seems so real. It‘s got everything…talent, girlfriends, tension between band mates, life on the road, substance abuse…
I am so curious how they‘re going to film it…as if it‘s a documentary? Or more like flashbacks? Or as the story unfolds? Fun read!
EEEEEEEK 🚨
I couldn‘t be more excited for this! Link below for all the pics and BTS news 👇🏼

This wasn‘t my normal type of book but I was intrigued by the style (written in the form of a series of interviews) and the era. To be honest, I wasn‘t expecting too much, but it blew me away.
@emilyrose_x
I liked this book - not as much as Evelyn Hugo, but the author is a talented write. The format of this book is interviews - no "narrative". The story has to be pieced together from the interviews of each character (and they are all happening simultaneously). It's clever.
Such a page turner. The story captures the different dimensions to love.
I don‘t usually listen to audio books I usually prefer the actual book in my hand, but this was a good one to listen to. The different voices for each character made it seem like listening to a movie. Some of the characters were a little one dimensional, but if you put that aside it‘s a fun book with a great ending.
Thank you so much @tdrosebud for my #FallingForFallSwap box! I literally love everything! Those books have been on my TBR for so long I‘m having trouble deciding which one I want to read first! I have to say I‘m going crazy over this booksleeve - it‘s so pretty! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Fall is off to a great start now. 🎃 🍁 @Avanders #FFFS

? Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid
There were several outstanding "D" books. A very close second is:
Dark Lover by J. R. Ward
Dark Matter by Blake Crouch
A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik
A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness

I tagged one of my fav books that starts with the letter “D”.

Taylor Jenkins Reid has written so many good books, but Daisy Jones and the Six was so cleverly written and a big surprise to me. The book also makes a brilliant audiobook.

Two critical errors delayed my reading of this book: (1) I got it confused with the Bridget Jones‘s Diary series which after the first book I didn‘t like the first and (2) no one told me this was based on / inspired by Fleetwood Mac. Had I known those things earlier, I absolutely would had read this book way before. The audio book is so fun with the entire cast of voices and surprisingly easy to follow along with as you get to know them. Read it!
By the end of the book you wish they were a real band so you could relive the story through their music and the hype of their world in the 70‘s.
39 of 2022. I enjoyed this one. I think it was a good pick for audiobook due to the story being told thru interviews. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I have mixed feelings about this one. It's a good story which takes place in a fascinating era. The character interactions and motivations are believable. And I love TJR's no-nonsense writing style. Still something didn't click. ⬇️

(1) L.A. in the '70s (tagged)
(2) The Empty Throne by Bernard Cornwell
(3) a book about Marie Curie by Susanna Leonard (couldn't find an English title, the original is "Marie Curie und die Kraft zu träumen", I want to read the Hungarian translation, which is going to be available soon)
Thanks for the tag @RaeLovesToRead ?
Would you like to play @Bklover ?
I think I wanted to like it more than I did. I went on too long to hold my interest.
Pretty fun read. I listened to the audiobook and its one of the best audiobook experiences. “Men often think they deserve a sticker for treating women like people”.

Simply love this book, which is also one of Reese Witherspoon‘s favourite books and makes her lists. Great as an audiobook if you haven‘t read it yet.

I'm convinced I will be late to my own funeral! ?
Taylor Jenkins Reid coming in strong for the Day 1 "Any number in the title" prompt with 3 great books.
#BigJuneReadathon #photochallenge @Clwojick
Well, I liked this a lot more than I'd anticipated!
The reporter style layout worked so well, and I got quite involved in the characters!
Sure, it was a #reread, but I still inhaled this book. I just love the sense of character, especially given the oral history style. And the hint dropping! #historicalfiction #rocknroll
Think I'm suffering from a book hangover after my previous read. This was in a free library and think it's hitting the right note for now.
I have yet to read anything by Taylor Jenkins Reid that I didn‘t enjoy. The style this book was written in kept it fun and fast and it was so easy to feel connected to the characters. While I personally may have been hoping for a different ending, overall the book was great and the ending was fitting enough! 8/10
Two bingos! #bookspinbingo There is a tie for my favorite book his month: Daisy Jones & The Six and True Biz. Honestly, this has been my favorite reading month so far. Most of these were hard to put down.
I‘ve finally realized that the 1619 project is not a straightforward read so I replaced it with a Hugo Award nominee. All other additional reads are outside the board.
@TheAromaofBooks
I read this book in one day just because I was ready for it to end. I was really disappointed because it was so hyped up and everyone loved it and I just didn‘t. I didn‘t like the format at all and there wasn‘t a plot. It just fell really flat for me.
