Absolutely adored all the magical imagery, delicious flavors, relatable emotions & lingering smells that bubbled and erupted from Sarah Addison Allen‘s writing in Garden Spells. This was a perfectly enchanting mixture of adult fiction & magical realism with a dash of romance and I enjoyed every bit of it. The added theme of food/cooking might have won a few bonus points from me too🍎
I bought this because of its cover.
Now, 4 months after reading, I still can‘t get it out of my head and that‘s not because of the beautiful artwork.
Whats resonated with me is the authors concept of God as nature, Jesus as science and the Holy Ghost as art.
Originally gave this 4/5 but bumping it to 5 for how well the author wormed into my head and sparked new avenues of thought. What more could one possibly want from an author than that?
