Tomorrow I‘m looking forward to starting this. I really fell in love with the first book and am hoping this one will be just as good.

I wasn‘t sure how I would go with this book as it was written way back in the 80s, but surprisingly I loved it. The plot is really rather different than I have read before and the story got me interested fast! I have been trying to find where I can stream the movie but unfortunately it‘s not on any of our services.
Staying home today so I can rest. There is a storm brewing and it‘s so nice and quiet. Nature can provide the perfect backdrop at times.
This one has been on my TBT for a LONG time. Looking forward to seeing if it‘s as good as I hope!
It took me a lot to get into this one. But I did actually complete it. I know a lot of people love this series but for the first half of the book I have to say Elena really grated on me with her entitled attitude. But I think I will read the second. Hopefully it will be better than the first.
Todays waiting place is the library near my sons TAFE. The early mornings are killing me but he is enjoying it. And this is the most reading I have got done in a while.
My son is trailing TAFE today so I‘m staying in the area. Having coffee at Primrose Lane at Christie‘s beach.
I don‘t know how long it‘s taken me to read this, but it‘s been a LONG while. It‘s spent a lot of time between my place and the library but I liked it so much I didn‘t want to give up on it, and I‘m glad I didn‘t. I just loved the story and the fantastical world that Gaiman created.
Going to start reading this book set in Finland for part of my read around the world challenge. (I‘m also back to reading Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman as it‘s finally back in from the library…that‘s been one hell of a slow read!)
Vegan pancakes at the pancake kitchen before we duck into the library for some book searching
Finished last night. I love the black one witch series, and Jo Spurriers writing. If you love YA fantasy give this a go.
Research starts now 🤫🥰
Tiny tiny little book haul from our local savers secondhand shop.
About to start this one. When I read the first in this series I had no idea the author was very local to me. I‘m looking forward to this second instalment.
A well written picture book based on WW2. I say roughly suitable for 7 to 9 year olds and though the topic is heavy it isn‘t too explicit about what happened during the holocaust.
A children‘s book, yes. But the first I came across when I was searching Libby for Denmark.
I‘m all out of library books till I go back…..so thought I‘d work on my reading around the world on going challenge.
I got a good few chapters in but just couldn‘t get into the story. Might pick this up another time down the track.
Going to dive into this book this afternoon
I really really wanted to like this book. I loved the first 1/3 but I literally couldn‘t make it last the half way mark.
Today I had to say goodbye to this precious man. He has been with me 18 years so still just a baby but he was so unwell we had to make the kind choice. I am going to miss him so much.
Ready to start reading tomorrow
This really wasn‘t too bad. Book and I intend to read the rest of the series. The only thing that irked me was the use of n ableist word on page 348 and then it being repeated towards the end of the book. As it‘s a 15 year old story I‘m hoping it‘s just that the author wasn‘t aware of the issue.
Penneshaw, Kangaroo Island. I took my daughter on a day trip there yesterday for her 25th birthday. Such a beautiful place we can‘t wait to go back.
Nothing good comes from this look in the middle of the night….this is his serious play face….and by play I mean attacking my feet and biting my arms to get my attention then doing the zoomies at full speed! Usually from on side of the bed to the other over the top of me. ( might have also told him I‘ll tell dad on him if he doesn‘t behave lol);
Decided to give bookstagram a Go 🫣. This shall be interesting. I wanted somewhere to share all my reading journal creativity as well as my current reads! If you‘re on there and want to follow a true beginner I‘d be grateful for the support.
This is the book that I didn‘t know I needed to read, and a sure contender for best book of the year. It was cute, cozy and fun. I love PNR but often they can be a little bit on the super mean hard edged guy side. Not this one. Not in the same way a lot are. Absolutely recommend.
No therapy, no supports, no appointments, no pressing engagements…..I‘m doing to indulge and read and relax today!
Getting a start on next years reading journal while I have a few spare minutes. Going with a dark cottagecore/Goblincore theme.
To start reading later tonight.
I can only say nice things about this book. I really enjoyed reading it and loved reading about the authors little valley over the seasons. The one thing that really stood out is when she said you do no need to love yourself to be worthy of love. So often we are told that unless we love ourself then we can not be loved….this isn‘t correct…maybe it‘s through others love we can heal and learn to love ourselves.
I sure am fussy. This one for me to page 124 and nope, can crawl no further inside. Time to pick up something else.
Just finished this and I loved it. It only took me three days of reading, but those days were a bit apart! The pre is is different from books I had read before and that made it all the more interesting. For a fussy butted reader such as myself it‘s always nice to find a story you can just sink into.
Miss Adele keeping me company while we getting over whatever bug we have picked up over the last couple of weeks. Good thing is I‘m finishing up a good few books I have been reading (got to love ADHD reading!) I should be finished this book tonight…I‘m really enjoying the concept of this one, which is rather different to other things I have been reading.
I can not express how much I really loved reading this book. The messiness, the embracing the perfection in imperfection, it made my little goblin heart very happy.
My beautiful girl and I enjoying the sun and some quiet reading (can you believe she is almost 19?)
I‘m on track to finish this book today.
I enjoyed it till I didn‘t, then I just couldn‘t continue.
A rainbow in a rain shower. I managed 20 pages today, so that‘s something!
Feral self care today is frozen custard that I am now eating by the sea! Mum came home yesterday so we are still doing a lot for her and will for a while. The two big kids and I have taken a moments breather before going back!
Decided it would be a good idea to download Libby so I can listen to audio books while I‘m running around helping mum:
Second book I have picked where the author was unknowingly neurodivergent!
Well she lasted two days out of the hospital:( poor mum can not catch a break
Our day out was altered today because there were people already playing pool at our local pub. So we went on a LONG drive to get what‘s reputed to be Adelaide‘s best chips. And they were. Reminds me of the chips I got as a kid in the 80s. We also came home with sensory toys from the shop next door. This is self care! Maybe not much of the feral side but….
Ready to start later tonight. I have been waiting for a few months for this to come from the library!
