Before we understand what humanity can achieve in the next 1000 years, it's important to understand what humans have achieved and destroyed in the past. As I turn 25 next month, I plan to learn and understand about the history of this planet before I start reading and appreciating my country's (India) history.

I never really liked the movies as a kid, but I hope that I like the books.
Wish me luck!

Clwojick I started reading them around that age too! I‘m 29, and just read 5+6 this year. Just have one more book to go! 4y
Qpri The movies become fun only after reading the books :) I was only 3 years older than Harry when I read the philosopher‘s stone ☺️ 4y

singhaniashares @Betty Of all the books that I have read so far, I feel The Kite Runner fits it best! What is your take? 6y
Betty @s3xycake hard for me to name a book. I would guess any book about the life or art of Mary Whyte. 6y

While I've only read 1/4th of this book, I am thoroughly enjoying this book and I am eager to finish this one. Sachin Tendulkar, the cricketing genius has penned his life story in the most interesting manner possible, and I am truly inspired by the way Sachin led his life. I recommend everyone to read this book, even if you don't know anything about cricket. He's truly a champion!

A Century Is Not Enough: My Roller Coaster Ride to Success | SOURAV. GANGULY, Gautam Bhattacharya

Pickpick

Completed this book in less than four hours. This book is a masterpiece in it's own unique way. Describing the ups and downs of his life, Sourav Ganguly, arguably one of the finest captains of Indian cricket tells his tale, and compares cricket to life, and enlightens us with life lessons he learnt on the 22 yards. A must pick for cricket fans.

A Thousand Splendid Suns | Khaled Hosseini
Pickpick

A gem of a story! Beautiful written and narrated, the book is all about the struggles of two women in Afghanistan, and how love can lead people to act against everything that is against them, and help them overcome the most daunting obstacles. This book is as good as The Kite Runner, maybe even better.

Heart touching stories. What I liked most is the simplicity. Simplicity of the characters, location and the writing. The stories remind us of simpler times, and how much the world has changed now.

The Kite Runner: Rejacketed | Khaled Hosseini

When you kill a man, you steal a life. You steal a wife's right to her husband, rob his children of a father. When you tell a lie, you steal someone's right to the truth. When you cheat, you steal the right to fairness. There is no act more wretched than stealing.
