Vampirina Ballerina
Vampirina Ballerina | Anne Marie Pace

Oh, to be a ballerina! It's a challenge for any little girl, but even more so if you happen to be a vampire like Vampirina. First of all, you have to find a class that meets at night. Then you have to figure out how to perfect your form when you can't see yourself in the mirror? And then there's wearing pink (not the most flattering of colors if you happen to be undead) and that nagging urge to take a little nip out of the other dancers. And worse of all STAGE FRIGHT!!!

Such a cute book! She‘s so sweet and she‘s a ballerina! I even found the show on Disney+ and, guess what! There‘s a whole series of Vampirina books and shows! She moved from Transylvania to Pennsylvania LOL! I‘m saving this book for my granddaughter. ❤️❤️🎃 #NotSoScaryAthon #BFC21

I love these books so much, and get a strong Addams Family vibe from them. In this one, Vampirina is preparing to host a sleepover.

saresmoore My youngest daughter loved these books so much when she was 6. She even dressed as Vampirina for Halloween. I miss those days! 5y
alisiakae @saresmoore I don't think my daughter ever read them, so they are new to me! 5y
Clwojick I love this series too! 5y

This was so cute! The illustrations are irresistible, especially if you pay close attention to the other ballerina‘s facial expressions and how they evolve into acceptance of Vampirina by the end of the book.

I just realized this is also a series on Disney Jr and now I want to watch it!

alisiakae Also a fun pick for Letter V for anyone doing @LibrarianRyan ‘s #bbrc challenge! 5y

Maya takes acting classes at ImaginOn, a building that houses a professional children‘s theatre company....and a huge children‘s library.

Guess where I spent my time while she was in workshops today? 🧡👻🎃🖤

I‘m planning something fun for #screamathon participants with the Spooky joke book!

Vampirina Ballerina is a MF PB by: Anna Marie Page and Illustrated by: LeUYen Pham. This book explains the struggles of a little vampire girl who wants nothing other than to be a ballerina. Her struggles to fit in come with heartache, but she perseveres. This book is great for a LC lesson. ESL 3 and 2 are great ways for students to turn and talk in small groups about their own personal struggles and growth just like Vampirina! 🧛🏻‍♀️

DrSpalding Brief. Looks like a cute book for independent reading. I am not sure that literature circles is the best teaching strategy to utilize with this text. 5y

So I was finally able to find a picture of the illustration from Vampirina that I framed for the author... she's local to me. Super friendly, and I love the books. We also watch the show. If you haven't already and you have little ones, definitely check out both! 😊

P.S. I know the matting doesn't look even... that was just the angle of the camera! It was even when finished and looked awesome!

Yesterday was spent creating tails and bows and bat wings. Today, we Boo at the Zoo! Ellie‘s costume is inspired by the tagged book and Lucy is a black cat animagus character (Penny Hangleton) from a book she‘s writing.

Mommamanzi I can not handle the cuteness!!!! 7y

MaureenMc My daughter is newly obsessed with Vampirina. 😊 7y
saresmoore @MaureenMc The illustrations are wonderful! And it‘s such a cute story. Although, as I was explaining more traditional vampire lore to my Ellie today, she was a bit disappointed. Even Bunnicula didn‘t prepare her for the concept of the “undead”. 😂 7y
ValerieAndBooks So cute!! (I think I say this every time 😍!) 7y
britt_brooke So darn cute!! 7y
SilversReviews Cute!! 7y
MaureenMc @saresmoore 😄 My daughter hasn‘t asked too many questions about traditional vampire lore, thankfully. She‘s pretty sensitive, so any mentions of undead or drinking blood would probably result in weeks of nightmares, ay yi yi. 😬 I can‘t wait until she‘s interested in Bunnicula, though. 😊 7y
readinginthedark We did that last night, too! So fun! 7y
Suet624 Ellie‘s knee! It‘s bendy! 7y
saresmoore @Suet624 Haha! I hadn‘t even noticed that! The poor child inherited my weirdo bendy knock knees. 7y
AlaMich Your kid is writing a book?!?! How awesome is that!! 😀 7y
saresmoore @AlaMich Yes! She read it aloud to her class and her teacher flipped out. That‘s the main advantage of those first few homeschooled years—she had time to read and become a storyteller! 7y
LauraBrook Your girls are so awesome! 💖 7y
