The Grand Raven Festival is once again taking place in my town - a month long celebration of all things spooky, especially Edgar Allan Poe and his poem, the Raven! 🎃👻🦇 The library hosts a 'Raven Walk' each week, in which we walk throughout various parts of town, read The Raven aloud, and share interesting Poe facts! Tonight, I'm leading the way! 😁💕📚 #librarylove #librariansoflitsy

Hooked_on_books Your mask looks like the old plague masks. Fitting for the current era! 3y

kspenmoll This sounds like so much fun! Do you know the history behind the festival? How it started & why? 3y
Branwen @kspenmoll It's actually a fairly new thing! Last year was the first year! It started because everyone in town was looking for ways to interact with the community and each other safely, due to covid! So most of the activities are outside! In addition to the Raven Walk there is a haystack maze, pumpkin decorating contest, raven scarecrow decorating contest, festive foods/drinks, and weekly outdoor movie nights showing fun and spooky movies! 3y
DivineDiana How exciting! 🖤 3y
kspenmoll @Branwen sounds fabulous, truly. Kudos to your town‘s creativity! 3y

When you love the book so much that the author starts to appear on the back of your hand (with a little pain and swelling in the process)... LOL 😜 Actually, I got this ‘art‘ a few years ago. Note, the bottom/side of his face are roots, and from the top of his head grows a spooky tree (not pictured) with ravens sitting in it. #poe #edgarallanpoe #tattoo (sorry, I couldn‘t find this book in the Litsy catalog, so I had to reference another)

Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I love it!!!! @LASluvesbooks We were just talking about bookish tattoos!!! ☺️☺️ 6y
mypoesoul @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I running out of canvas. 😜 I have his stories all over my body... 6y
GarthRanzz One day I will have my Poe tattoo. I regret not making him my first but I hadn‘t found my art when I got my first (so far only) ink. That is definitely one great sounding tat. And that book! Need to find it! Interesting that Litsy‘s version has art by David García Forés instead. 6y

GarthRanzz I guess it is the same book! Totally thought I saw a different artist name on your cover. 6y
cobwebmoth Love it! 6y
mypoesoul @GarthRanzz Thanks! Yeah, I moved fast (with my tattoos) that even my tattoo artist made a comment about it. I have all of the tattoos (so far) organized on my body into each story. All of the pieces of the story together (i.e. my right arm, above the elbow is all The Masque of the Red Death). The next I‘m getting is The Pit and The Pendulum on the middle/lower of my back. I didn‘t think about looking the book up by the illustrator. 🤭 6y
mypoesoul @cobwebmoth Thanks!!! 😊 6y
mypoesoul @GarthRanzz Dang, I searched around on Litsy and couldn‘t find it. I thought with it being a Kickstarter thing, I was out of luck... 6y
GarthRanzz I just wish I could find a physical copy like yours. I only see a Kindle version available and I don‘t do Kindle. Especially with my Poe stuff. As for your tats, I wish I had the strength to do a sleeve but I don‘t think I could. I love the idea of a series of art telling the story. Like 6y
mypoesoul @GarthRanzz I was unaware of The Illustrated Man, I‘m going to have to check that out. As crazy as it may sound, I sort of got the idea (and some motivation) from Prison Break, of tying everything together. I was a big fan of the show, and the whole concept of his tattoos. As for David G. Forés, I really lucked out and found the Poe Kickstarter early. Being on their email list, I ended up getting into his other Kickstarter projects also. 6y
