Puffy Apple Dumplings from the Anne of Green
🍃 Gables Cookbook 🍃
Inspired by the most famous of all Canadian children's books, L.M. Montgomery's Anne of Green Gables, this cookbook combines easy step-by-step recipes with charming quotes and watercolours of Anne and her friends. Enjoy!!
I‘ve heard so many people exclaim how great Ann with an E is. She is one of their favorite characters. Maybe she‘s better on paper than audio. Diarrhea of the mouth! Dramatic! Annoying but endearing. I want to scream each time she says tragical. I just want her to shut up at times. I do love the story though and intend to listen to the series.
My second favorite Anne quote.
This is really fun. It‘s gorgeous inside, which lovely illustrations. The recipes sound delicious and actually practical. It‘s written for young cooks, but can be made my anyone. #readwomen

1. No one would want me to cook for them, but I'd love to have dinner with L. M. Montgomery
2. 1939, to visit the set of "The Wizard of Oz" at MGM

Unexpected book mail arrived today! Such a lovely surprise after a long day. I am looking forward to trying many of the recipes. I have everything I need for Miss Stacy‘s Baked Macaroni, so mac and cheese for dinner it is!
5⭐️ What a wonderful book. It is a charming cookbook that brings Prince Edward Island right into your kitchen. Each chapter is based on books in the series, or the cookbook of Montgomery herself. There are recipes for the classic raspberry tart, and raspberry cordial (that will not get Diana drunk). And I forgot about the incident with the liniment. They even have a Liniment cake recipe. The book is written by a grandchild of Montgomery.
I don't use cookbooks so often anymore, but I have fond memories of the birthday party menu I planned from this cookbook several years back: including everything from Splendid Lettuce Salad and Saucy Chicken to Diana's favorite raspberry cordial and Anne's liniment cake (minus the liniment). #cookbooklove #photoadaynov16
