Great Scott!
I genuinely didn't realise just how prolific Walter Scott was. Nor that Ivanhoe is big enough to run to two of those black volumes!

It‘s a two pets per lap kind of night 😍 #catsoflitsy #dogsoflitsy

@TheAromaofBooks I‘m almost 2/3 through Ivanhoe and liking it waaay more than I thought I would. The action and adventure have been pretty much nonstop since the tournament! ⚔️

TheAromaofBooks I'm really enjoying it as well - and I can't believe I didn't know that Robin Hood was actually in this book! 😂 2y
sarahbellum @TheAromaofBooks Same here! It was a very pleasant surprise 🙃 2y

Thanks for reminding me to post my goals @wanderinglynn and for hosting this great challenge!!

So January my goals were to walk every day and to work on the chunkster that is From Blood & Ash. about a week or so into the month I readjusted LOL I downloaded a 30-day fitness app and set it at literally the lowest level possible, which is only about 5mins a day, plus another app with 5mins of stretching a day. Since then, I've only missed 8 days & ⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) I really love it!! The app increases so incrementally that I don't ever feel like it's too much, but my workout time has doubled, as has the amount of time I plank each morning!!

For reading, I'm shifting my focus to my #BookSpin books. January's was David Copperfield and I've done pretty well reading a chapter a day of that, which I want to continue through February and hopefully finish. February's pick is Ivanhoe so I am adding that ⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) to the mix.

So, in conclusion, February's goal - keep on with the 30-day fitness app, hopefully moving to the next level of 30-day workouts mid-month, plus morning stretching. For reading, stick with a chapter a day for both David Copperfield and Ivanhoe. I really want to read these classics, both of which are #AlmostaChunkster !!!

TheAromaofBooks @Julsmarshall - Thank you!!! 2y
sarahbellum I‘m reading Ivanhoe this month too, thanks to #roll100! I‘m aiming to read about 20 pages a day over my lunch break to finish it in a month 😬 2y
wanderinglynn Awesome job adapting you goals! 🙌🏻 Keep up the great progress! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 2y
TheAromaofBooks @sarahbellum - That's awesome!!! I'm sticking with the chapter a day even though that means it will take me about six weeks to finish. 2y
TheAromaofBooks @wanderinglynn - Thank you!! I decided to take the #BFC philosophy to heart!! 😁 2y
kimmypete1 What is the app you use for stretching? I always do such random things. 2y
wanderinglynn That makes me so happy to hear! And it seems to have worked really well for you! 💜 2y
sarahbellum @TheAromaofBooks We‘ll have to keep tabs on each other‘s progress and share how we‘re liking it. I‘ve only read the first chapter so far and was so saddened to learn about the practice of lawing dogs 😔 2y
TheAromaofBooks @kimmypete1 - I have two. One is Stretching by Fitify. I like this one because you choose the length of your workout and it randomizes stretching exercises to fit the time you set. However, it doesn't do a very good job explaining any of the stretches, you just kind of have to guess by the pictures lol The other is just called Stretching Exercises & it's by the same people who made the 30-day Fitness app that I use. I like their stretch routine ⬇ 2y
TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) but it's the same routine in the same order every time. However, they do have a neck-strain specific one that has been borderline life-changing haha They are really simple stretches but doing them a few times a week has alleviated soooo much neck/shoulder pain! 2y
TheAromaofBooks @sarahbellum - Right?! What a terrible thing to do, just to “make sure“ the dogs weren't used to hunt! Have you ever read the book The Velvet Room? Part of the reason I've always meant to read Ivanhoe is because reading it plays a big part in The Velvet Room, which I loved growing up. 2y
sarahbellum @TheAromaofBooks No, I‘ve never read that one. My great aunt, who was also a big reader, constantly recommended Ivanhoe to me while I was growing up. So far, I‘m glad I didn‘t read it as a kid/teen- so much would have gone straight over my head! 2y

Glad I wasn‘t the only one to give a leap of joy when @PuddleJumper rolled her dice early for Feb #roll100 😂
#36 is Ivanhoe. My great aunt, whom I loved dearly, couldn‘t recommend this enough when I was growing up. I‘ll finally bite the bullet for you, Aunt Millie 💖
#90 is Eats, Shoots & Leaves. Probably the last person on the planet who hasn‘t read this one!

PuddleJumper That's quite a contrast! 2y
sarahbellum @PuddleJumper I‘m nothing if not eclectic 😂 2y

#BookMail today! Remember I had mentioned my love of Modern Library's tv adaptation companion books? Well I came across IVANHOE a couple of weeks ago and it finally arrived!

TrishB Sunday afternoons with my Mum ❤ Love the book, film, series! 7y
EvieBee @TrishB I've never watched or read Ivanhoe which is a shame! I love and was told I would love Ivanhoe equally. 7y

Pickpick

A beautiful historical novel containing a sad part on inequality that faced Jew people in Middle Ages. Moreover, it is about heroism, about a ruler understanding the need of his people, about how love makes you do crazy things and also about how we can't get everything we want to get.

Santa and Mrs. Claus are probably judging me, because this is just a pile of the first I grabbed from my #TBR of #AClassicYouHaventRead I have some reading to do! #seasonsreadings2016

LeahBergen Ivanhoe is one I've been meaning to get to, as well! 7y
EvieBee OF HUMAN BONDAGE and EAST OF EDEN are on my list of classics for next year. So many good things in this pile! 7y
Louise One of my favorite courses in college was one on The Canterbury Tales. It was like attending a stand-up comedy show three days a week! The professor really brought the book to life! 7y
