This month‘s tale for the #FairytaleReadingChallenge is The Twelve Dancing Princesses. The version in my Grimm anthology goes by one of the story‘s alternate titles. I was not familiar with this particular tale prior to reading it. (This anthology is dense and I‘ve been working my way through it for years.) The story was interesting, but doesn‘t pack the same punch as more famous fairy tales. @Charityann

pickFascinating, horrifying, surreal as only folktales can be.
Becoming a consultant on human rights and international relations can be a little challenging and messy. I finished a contract in November, started a free-lance gig in December and today I started an office job. For the next months I will be working two jobs at the same time. I am little worried that it will significantly cut my reading time hours. So at least I will try to make the most of my commute time and listen to more audiobooks

After I read a book with an incredibly sad ending, I return to an old stand-by: The Lady and the Lion from the Brothers Grimm. A more complicated and interesting Beauty and the Beast.
pickThis is one scary book. Not all of it, but some of it is. I'm pretty sure parents will not be too thrilled to know what the original stories are actually about. Still, a very interesting read.
