Holy moly the stuff that Harper goes through in this book is insane. At times I kept asking myself “am I reading a middle grade book” numerous this girl almost died. These ghosts are ready to murder a 12 year old!! It was so wild!

Sweetkokoro @AkashaVampie It‘s actually my youngest sisters fireplace. The gaint skulls actually work as a fog machine (it‘s from Spirit Halloween) and she placed inside her fireplace as she doesn‘t use it (we are in Cali so no real need for a fireplace lol) Her whole house is gothic spooky halloween year around! 5y

I really enjoyed this book about a family of Korean descent (not completely sure how to phrase that) moving into a haunted house. The youngest kid, Michael becomes possessed by an evil spirit and it is up to his older sister, Harper to save him.

I really enjoyed this one... but I honestly can‘t believe anyone thought “Yeah... we should market this to kids with its graphic details about blood, broken necks, and necromancy.” Seriously, just give your kid a King novel.

This book was SO FREAKIN GOOD! I was worried about it being a bit campy seeing as it‘s best for younger readers, but Ellen Oh totally did NOT disappoint! The book revolves around a young girl named Harper who loses her memory of what happens to her after a tragic accident. Harper is sensitive to spirits and after moving to a new town & old house she realizes there‘s something wrong with her brother who may be possessed by something evil! 😱

I would recommend this to a kid looking for a scary book (it's really creepy!) but I felt like the writing was just so-so and I just didn't see any point in finishing it myself.
