This was a sweet read. I loved the dolls and their positivity despite hard times. Hip! Hip! Hooray for the Fairies 🧚♀️
I was pleasantly surprised by 2 colored illustrations towards the end of the book!

Finished last Sunday for #ChildrensClassicRead2025 & one of my #Roll100 May picks (#70: Any Children‘s Book). Written in 1906, is a sweet story about a unique group of dolls & their dollhouse. While I didn‘t love it, I liked it well enough for it to be a pick.
I love finding these wacky foreign covers! I guess that's supposed to be Queen Crosspatch? Who's so obviously a sexy minx! 😂
This was cute but a little sappy for my tastes. Burnett was better at writing for older children, I think. I did wonder if this inspired Rumer Godden's wonderful doll stories.
