My July pick for #12booksin2021 this is written in a super interesting style and follows a young group during the Arab Spring in Cairo. It‘s not an easy one to describe but I loved it !

Stopped by one of my favourite bookshops on the weekend and could leave empty handed. Excited to start this one next!
For #WildWednesday here are 2 books about the Egyptian revolution in 2011: Life from Cairo and the City Always Wins (both happened to come out within a few weeks of each other and I'm ECSTATIC to read both) and Broken Sleep a supposed "Pynchon-esque" saga following a man diagnosed with Leukemia who discovers his mother isn't his birth mother- and he needs a donor.
My last #BookMail excluding BOTM until I make bingo progress! #AwesomeAutumnBooks
I got 9,999 problems but a book ain't one 🤗🤗🤗
Thanks everyone! I love this site and everyone on it.
#TBRtemptation post 2! This debut novel is literary fiction set in contemporary Egypt. Deeply involved in the 2011 Tahrir Square uprising, Mariam and Khalil move through Cairo's roiling streets with energy and purpose. They believe in the revolution and realize the whole world is watching. From night battles with police to post-revolutionary exile, this cutting, intense, brutal account will provide deep insights. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎

Fantastic debut novel chronicling the Egyptian Arab Spring uprising. Through the book, you follow the urgency of the protests from the POV of two young activists while also following the family of a young martyr. The book does a great job of giving the reader a micro and macro view.
