I love quotes and sometimes they fit into your life. My son broke up with his first girlfriend and he said he didn‘t know if he was really sad or not. I told him if she was the one he would know. (He is 17, he has lots of time to find the one) this series has so many great moments!!
I enjoyed this book. It was sweet and heartwarming and just sort of makes you smile the whole way. I definitely found Kahlen to be a likable main character. I could relate to her feelings and found myself wanting her to be happy. Also I now want to visit Port Clyde, Maine.
My daughter says this book is excellent and I really enjoyed the Selection series so I‘m starting it now. #theselection
Anna thank you so much for my birthday books! It was such a nice surprise! I have been wanting to read both for awhile!
Within a world like ours with a small little twist... sirens are real; they exist. The humans don‘t know that, they wouldn‘t understand. The job of a siren is to feed the ocean. To bring humans to the oceans clutches, and every so often, the ocean chooses a girl from the ship wreck. These girls become sirens and they use their voice to lead the people to the bottom of the ocean. The girls held captive of the ocean wish to be normal.
Loved this adorable standalone from Kiera Cass! Predictable, but cute and fun and just the escape I needed. ♥️♥️
Been meaning to read this one for a while. A simple and sweet story. More a romance tale than anything else, but still a good read. I normally prefer more depth in my books, but I didn‘t mind it as much in this one because it was so well done for what it was.
“I instantly dragged my fingers across a shelf of book spines, in love with each one already. Books were a safe place, a world apart from my own. No matter what had happened that day, that year, there was always a story in which someone overcame their darkest hour. I wasn‘t alone.”
Reading this at the moment because Priory was starting to feel a little daunting not because it‘s a bad book but because it‘s so long so I‘m reading something shorter to get me back in the mood 😊
Well I wrote a review and then it disappeared. Hmm starting again albeit shorter. Love conquers all and souls can be joined is the message here. Short and sweet. YA romance with a fantasy twist. It lacked an emotional tug for me that I felt it was trying for though. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ #mbcreadathon #mbcfrogsread 4 hrs read
Let the readathon begin! Woohoo up first is The Siren by Kiera Cass. 0 hrs 0 mins #mbcreadathon #mbcfrogsread1
I had just finished Fahrenheit 451, so I enjoyed this book as an easy read. I see a lot of so-so reviews for this book, and I feel like people were expecting more from the author than what they got (I haven‘t ready any of her other books). Its a stand-alone fantasy book that‘s relatively short and a love plot that is a little unrealistic (guy seems too good to be true), but that‘s what I expected. I read it all in one day and was satisfied.
So this isn't the best YA romance novel out there, but it was a sweet and easy read, something I needed after the crazy week I had last week.
I love the author Keira class although this book to me was one of her downfalls. The ending leaves you on a cliffhanger which will never be solved at this book is not part of a series and it just wasn‘t good in my opinion. It was such a great book and there was so many good ideas but the ending ruined the whole book
This has been on my tbr list for a LONG time. Finally sitting down to read it!
This book was okay, and was a really nice, lighthearted beach read to kick off my summer when I first read it. There were some plot weaknesses, like the insta-love (omg it was actually so unrealistic), but there were also some serious strengths. I really liked the idea that the Ocean had to eat people to survive, and the way the Cass approached the Ocean as a character with a personality. Btw this book is very different from The Selection series
It was a great, quick, and entertaining read but it was a bit basic for a siren story pretty much the same as any other Siren book I‘ve read but honestly it was fun to read!!
Kahlen begs not to die during a shipwreck, and the price is being a siren for 100 years. She the other sirens lure humans to their deaths. 80 years into her sentence, she meets a boy who sees into her soul. Akinli is a likable hero, but the bonds of sisterhood between the sirens and the Ocean‘s role as a mother to them all get most of the page time. Dragged at times, satisfying ending.
I finished the siren tonight and it was a quick read that I enjoyed! I like Kiera Cass as an author though.
This book was absolutely AMAZING!!! Here‘s a quick summary of you haven‘t read it: A girl named Kahlen becomes a siren(mythical mermaid like creature that sings sailors to death) and faces many challenges. She can‘t talk to anyone, except for her fellow sirens. I would definitely reccomend this book for anyone who is a childhood fan of “The little mermaid.”
Really wanted something fluffy and her “Selection” novels really hit the “guilty pleasure” spot for me when I read them years ago....here‘s hoping this one is exactly the escape I need right now!
I really enjoyed the first half of this book, but I‘ve been busy and hadn‘t had the time to finish it. But today I read the rest in one sitting. I loved the whole book right up until the second to last chapter. The ending left me feeling kind of empty. I don‘t know, it just seemed lacking. I‘m not really sure if I‘ll read this one again.
How many mugs do you have from @society6? I have 5, I love the bookish themes!

Oh god, I‘m pretty sure I already know the whole story with the boy in the picture. I hope I‘m wrong.
This book was pretty good. It started out slow and the ending was depressing bc she kinda forgot everything. But it was a good read, read it in one sitting.
My kind of Friday! Listening to my new favorite, The Greatest Showman soundtrack; sipping on a really nice, crisp (and pretty gold color) wine; starting a new book. #itsfriyay #bookandwinepairing 📚 🍷 2016 Inama Soave Classico
About to die in a ship wreck, Kahlen takes up the offer to become a siren, a being who serves the Ocean by calling to people to jump off ships and die. I didn't feel that Kahlen's mixed emotions made sense. Every time it came up I got more and more irritated. I loved the Selection series so I thought I'd try this one, but was disappointed.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I knew that KC was a skilled storyteller - that‘s the only thing that helped me get through The Selection series. This book captured my heart from the first chapter. It is unique, incredible, and perfect. And to think that this almost went unpublished. From the characters - seeing their development, to the mythology - this book has everything that is great about the YA fantasy genre. I wish this book had a five part series.
Currently listening to: The Siren by Kierra Cass.
I adored the Selection series and think it would be a hit movie or TV show! #pagetoscreen
Getting ready to dive into a new book, just finished The Siren. Not my favorite read as I felt the characters weren't very developed and the ending was disappointing but it was a quick read. Now the question is, what to read next?!?
i read the siren when it first released and enjoyed it, not as much as i was hoping for but it was a good and easy read and really fast paced. plus, it's about sirens so that's cool, and there's a love story and it's just overall interesting with how the story goes.

I love any and all books about mermaids or pirates. And it's better if it's mermaids and pirates! On book on my TBR pile is The Siren. I can't wait to dive into these pages!
I finished the audio book of this today at work. Firstly, it was one of the best preformed audio books I've listened too. Secondly, for once I wasn't mad at the ista-love, because it made sense within the mythology of the book. A fantastical romance with a unique twist, great characters, and a touch of heart wrenching drama. If you're looking for a good beach read, check this one out (though, it might make you afraid to go in the ocean...).
Wasn't bad. I finished it pretty quickly and it was an easy/light read. I liked reading about an idea I haven't read about too much but I feel like it's missing something. I thought the romance parts were sweet, and this is really a good beach read.
Not a huge candle fan personally, the smell is ok
