Finally finished this one that has been on my TBR for most of this year. #ReadingTheAmericas2023 #StKittsandNevis @Librarybelle @BarbaraBB

A story about discovering long lost ship wrecks, amulets, witches, curses, skulduggery and with sone romance thrown in. Like the central group of characters and as always there was a baddie in the background. A fun and engaging story, although a bit longer than it needed to be.

Andrew65 5th book finished in November #Rushathon @DieAreader @Ghabi4Roses 13mo
Librarybelle Great! I plan to read this one for the prompt too! 13mo
Andrew65 @Librarybelle I look forward to seeing what you think of it. 13mo

I‘m 1/3 into this book and I just don‘t want to read it anymore. There have been murder and mayhem, tragedy and found riches, and a villain. And yet I find the writing style very boring. I cringed every time I picked the book up knowing there was something else I‘d rather read more, which tells me it‘s time to move on. It has great reviews so I must be missing something. #StKitts #readingtheamericas

Librarybelle Oh no! So sorry about this one! 1y

Out of town on a business trip and today was the shortest of my three days here so I went to the only bookstore in town. And sure enough I met the bookstore cat! And found the tagged book for $3.25 for #readingtheAmericas #StKittsandNevis @Librarybelle @BarbaraBB

Bookwormjillk Score! Safe travels home. 2y
robinb I‘ve read a lot of her books, but I missed that one. Stacked. 😊 2y

#BookReport this week - I did finish the next Chesapeake Shores book as well as the tagged book. My copy of The Flatshare arrived so I also caught up on that and am back on track for the #LittensLoveRomance buddy read!! I'm staying on top of my chapter-a-day-ish reads for The Stand In (also #LLR), Tom Sawyer (#BookSpin) and Jane Eyre (#PemberLittens) as well, but overall have not had much reading time this week!! Peaches are done and we are in ⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) full apple/pear/cider mode!! I started my delivery route this week and am very happy to be back in my adorable lil box truck. I'm also now in charge of going to the Tuesday evening farmers' market, which is great fun and kind of more like a craft show with some produce and all of the vendors just hang out and buy stuff from one another 😂 I brought home some amazing soap and a gigantically fluffy loaf of bread. AND read several chapters ⬇ 2y
TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) of a book between customers!! Despite finishing two books this week, somehow there are more books in the Windowsill of Optimism than there were last Sunday, as you all will see with tomorrow morning's picture...

@Cinfhen
2y
Cinfhen Ha, that windowsill seems to grow books!!! 2y
TheAromaofBooks @Cinfhen - Right?! We all know what books get up to when we're not around 😂 It's the ONLY logical explanation for how many books are in my house!!! 2y
Cinfhen Hahaha- I kind of like that idea 😉😂 2y

Pickpick

A soft pick - not my favorite Roberts book but still quite readable. The Past section kind of stressed me out just because I knew something bad would have to happen to break them up and I don't like waiting for the bad stuff haha But I actually did like Tate and Matthew together. I appreciate how Roberts can find random jobs/settings for her stories and still make them work. I loved the descriptions of life underwater and the whole concept of ⬇️

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) treasure diving. I loved Tate's parents and Matthew's uncle and the sense of family and community they had. The story did feel slow in spots but still an enjoyable read.

#WeeklyForecast - I added September's books to the Windowsill of Optimism and actually it doesn't look to bad. This month's #Roll100 numbers were one book I've already read and two books that each start a new series, and I am DONE starting new series until I have finished series!! 😂 So I think I am going to just take a pass on that challenge this month and jump back in in October. I finished Moonlight Cove last night and started The Reef. Next ⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) I need to read the Tony Hillerman book - it's the next in the Leaphorn & Chee series and is due back at the library, probably because I've had it for like three months 😆 Other than that, whatever the fates decide should get pulled out of this window next!! Overall this system of working my way through my challenges/TBR is working really well. I think at the end of November, though, I'm going to clear the windowsill entirely, read ⬇ 2y
TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) Christmas/holiday fluff all of December, then start fresh in January. Despite being excited still about all of these books, I'm also already looking forward to that clean slate. Mainly because I have a book-reading-challenge problem 😂

@Cinfhen
2y
Clare-Dragonfly It‘s not terrible! There are only two horizontal books! 😂 2y
Cinfhen Clean slate December sounds exciting!!! And it‘s not that far off!!!! #Goals 2y
TheAromaofBooks @Clare-Dragonfly - Right?? I have definitely made ground since the beginning of August 😂 And a lot of these are shorter and/or children's books so they should be fast reads whenever I get to them. 2y

Today was spent cleaning my Nora Roberts books, so I took a few mins to take pics of some of my favorite stand alones. The Reef is one of my top 5 stand alones NR faves. Takes place almost entirely on or in the ocean, where a father/son and father/daughter team find a ship wreck. Gorgeous setting, fun characters, good guys, bad guys, some suspence, sharks and, of course, budding romance. Fun, light read that I highly reccomend

#tallshipcelebration @CrowCAH There‘s plenty of #treasure to be found in this book about fortune hunters.

CrowCAH I have yet to read a Nora Roberts novel; though one is on the TBR! 5y

Another solid oldie but goodie by Nora Roberts ♥️ Shipwrecks, treasure hunting, a super creepy bad guy and a swoon worthy romance - I'm a little bit in love with Matthew 😍 ⚓️💎

Seems like the 90s are my NR sweet spot, some really excellent storytelling! #romantsy

GypsyKat I read this years ago and I remember really loving it. Have you ever seen the movie Fools Gold, staring Kate Hudson and Mathew McConaughey? It's got a similar vibe, it's cute summer flick. 😊 🎬🏝 7y
Lmstraubie Okay, I know we're supposed to talk books, but...Are those Minnie leggings??? 7y
swishandflick @GypsyKat I thought of that movie too! It's cute, very similar concept - maybe a little more on the comedy end of the spectrum 😄 7y

swishandflick @Lmstraubie Yes!! Haha. I have an unhealthy addiction to LuLaRoe 😂 7y
GypsyKat @swishandflick Definitely has more laughs! But they both make me want to visit the ocean! 😊 7y
swishandflick @GypsyKat Definitely!! Makes me wonder why I never considered studying marine archaeology 😂 7y
Clwojick Just read this one last year, and was surprised I liked it so much. It certainly had me dreaming of scuba diving in some deep waters 🐋🐠 7y

Started a new (and by new I mean old) NR while sitting in the laundromat and ended up getting into a long conversation with one of the ladies who works there because she saw the cover and came over to chat books! Always down for that, haha. Gave her some recommendations and told her all about Litsy - I hope she joins! 😄
