An intriguing & clever fictional explanation for the true-life disappearance of Agatha Christie, who went missing for 10 days in 1926. I see that this book received mixed reviews, but I rather enjoyed it. I've had this on my shelf for several years, & now wished I had read it earlier. I rate it 3.5🌟

I love Agatha Christie books; am obsessed with them. So I thought for sure I would love this novel. But no. It took me forever to finish because I just kept getting bored while reading it.
In the winter of 1926, Agatha Christie disappeared for one week... In this historical fiction/mystery, Andrew Wilson builds a very entertaining story from the few elements known.
This book is very well written, and offers a peek into Agatha Christie's intimacy. It's the first book of a series that I look forward to reading ;)
It took a while for me to get into this book, but I did enjoy it. I kept wondering how Christie was going to get out of her predicament. There wasn't always much action but I felt like that made sense with the plot. I appreciated that the author provided a list of the things that really did happen so you know which parts are fiction. Overall, I would rather read something written by Agatha Christie than about her, but I give this book 4/5 stars.
I won‘t have much time to read for the next week because I‘m taking my end-of-program exam for my MLS, but I did manage to start this for a book club. It hasn‘t sucked me in yet, but since my time is limited, that‘s probably a good thing!
I love all things Agatha Christie. My favorite dramatisation of her missing days in December 1926 is an episode of Dr. Who but I digress. This is a fictional account using the bones of what is known about Christie‘s disappearance. It was fun to read but quite absurd as to Christie‘s motivations in my opinion. Read it as a novel and suspend some disbelief and it is enjoyable. 3⭐️
Starting this novel about the days Agatha Christie disappeared in honor of her birthday fast approaching.
I finished this a few days ago. I do like Agatha Christie but this time she is a character and an explanation is given about her 10 day disappearance. This is the start of a series where she plays a writer and amateur detective. #lovetoread #redbooks #bookcovers
Yesterday was a rainy day in London and all my plans of sightseeing were blown up. I ended up spending time in the Victoria and Albert Museum and in Waterstones (you know, when in doubt, get into a bookshop 😆). Founds lots of very interesting books. These is a selection if the ones set in the 1920s.
A couple of them are totally new to me.
A Talent for Murder is a fictional account of the disappearance of Agatha Christie for ten days in 1926. I thought this was a clever interpretation and a true honest to goodness mystery. Andrew Wilson does justice to Agatha Christie and I look forward to reading more books by him. #lovedit #mystery #agathachristie #andrewwilson
Latest order arrived today. Don‘t remember ordering it so it was a nice surprise. #newreleases #TBRlist #murdermystery
Thanks so much for the books @Liberty
My mom was visiting and I sent her home with two books, A Thousand Paper Birds and Heart Spring Mountain.
I'm going to read A Talent for Murder first and then Sip, which I am really excited about. I may have excitedly yelled YES! when I picked it up and realized what it was and my husband thought I had won money or something.
ALSO my cats thank you for the box and paper, they LOVE packing paper.

I recently added this mystery novel to my tbr about the real life 10 day disappearance of Agatha Christie.
A fictional book that looks at Agatha Christie's 11 day disapperance in 1926. Takes facts from her disapperance and fiction for a gripping tale of murder and blackmail. I enjoyed it.
Just got back home with my library holds and can't help noticing the covers have a certain symmetry 🤓
#TBRtemptation post 1! Just released. Centered around the real-life mystery of Agatha Christie's 10-day disappearance. In London, she's boarding a train and pre-occupied with learning of her husband's affair. There, she is insidiously blackmailed. Based on her knowledge of murder, he wants her to help commit one! She must use all of her cleverness & resourcefulness. #PhillyMeetUp edition! #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎
What an amazing day at the Litten Philly Meetup! Naturally, I had to purchase a few books at B&N, and I received a book I wanted to read through the book swap.
Andrew Wilson takes Christie‘s odd disappearance in 1926 and weaves a story around this still unsolved mystery.

Speaking of Dame Agatha, my #currentread is a novel feat. Agatha Christie as the main character. I hope I love it!
