5 posts | 4 read | 2 to read
Tell me again about the night I was born . . Tell me again how you would adopt me and be my parents... Tell me again about the first time you held me in your arms . . In asking her mother and father to tell her again about the night of her birth, a young girl shows that it is a cherished tale she knows by heart. Jamie Lee Curtis and Laura Cornell come together once again to create a unique celebration of the love and joy a baby brings into the world. Tell Me Again About the Night I Was Born is a heartwarming story, not only of how one child is born but of how a family is born.

THIS BOOK IS AN ABSOLUTE FAVE!!! Jamie-lee Curtis does it again with an amazing read. This new your best-sellers is a must have in the classroom. In the book it tells about a family being made forever. A blended family at that. The book is very good for a nice read-aloud. The book has a lot of good points talking about family and love. The UDL principle for this book is 9.1 and the ESOL strategy is 3. Encourage self-talk (positive thinking)

audrey.wilson Your author study...or was it book boost? Regardless, I loved when you shared this book in class, I can‘t wait to read it. 5y

This sweet RF book by Jamie Lee Curtis and illustrated by Laura Cornell deals with the topic of adoption. It tells the story of a persistent young girls‘ request for her parents to tell her about the day she was born. It is a great addition to any classroom library for students who have been adopted to identify with. Great for AS, RA, & IR. #UCFLAE3414SP18 UDL: 1.1, 5.1, 5.3 & 9.2 EL: 1, 11, & 14, 16, & 32

LisaMart Jamie Lee Curtis is a New York Times best selling author. Here is the link for my author study on this author, which includes 2 educators guides with classroom activities for this book: https://create.piktochart.com/output/28725499-new-piktochart (edited) 6y
KaitlynN This book it so cute. I basically cry every time. I started a wish list of books for my classroom library, and this is like #4. Also, I think they make such an interesting author/illustrator duo! 6y
ambera This looks like a great book to add to a classroom library! I honestly had no idea Jamie Lee Curtis wrote children's books until taking this course. 6y
LisaMart @ambera I‘m glad you didn‘t know, cause I didn‘t either! 😂 6y
Fiona_i This is such a cute book. I think this is an important book to have in your classroom. You never know what kind of students you might one day have. You always want to make sure they feel welcomed. 6y

Tell Me Again About the Night I Was Born by: Jamie Lee Curtis; Genre: RF; Teaching Strategy: RA, AS, IR, PR. I think this book could be used in a lot of ways in the classroom because I think this book gives a different perspective on someone who is adopted‘s birthday and provides insight into something many students wouldn‘t know normally. #UCFLAE3414SP18

Jeffersleighann This book is the cutest book! I bought it while on vacation in Georgia and started to tear up in the book store. This book is about a little girl (who is adopted) asking about the night she was born. This book shines light on the love that is involved in adoption and how special the process is. 6y
Jeffersleighann EL: 2. Promote cooperation (small groups). This would be helpful so students can discuss the topic and hear what other students have to say about the topic and applying it to their knowledge as well. 6y
Jeffersleighann UDL 1.2: Offer alternatives for auditory information. This resource is a video of someone reading the book, but it is also interactive. Https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQIUHGnih-U 6y
DrSpalding EL and UDL are nicely aligned. Remember when using a video resource, stopping and asking questions is an effective comprehension strategy. 6y
Jeffersleighann @DrSpalding Yes, and the woman that narrates that video adds her own thoughts as well which I thought was interesting. 6y

Este álbum ilustrado explica de manera sencilla, delicada y tierna (desde el punto de vista de la familia adoptante) el momento de recogida de un bebé entregado en adopción. El texto se acompaña por unas ilustraciones repletas de detalles francamente divertidos. ¡Recomendable!
