Hooked_on_books This is the exact problem with banning books. It‘s such a slippery slope and they are sliding right down it. I‘m so glad I don‘t live in Florida with all this stupidity going on. 2y

vivastory @Hooked_on_books It's a very slippery slope. As a lifelong library user I feel terrible for anyone in FL who is being impacted by the stupidity & zealotry. Although unfortunately my home state is displaying it's fair share too. I don't really see it where I live since KC is more liberal but I know that it has been a problem in the more conservative/rural areas. 2y

Twitter is a Twitter! I was planning to weed all my Arthur books because no one checks them out. I just found out that this episode is being challenged because Arthur wants to play spin the bottle. WTH? I'm going to go ask my kid if he even knows what that is.

mandarchy The 12 year old swears he's never heard of it. I explained the kissing version, which probably dates back to pre Roman occupation of Great Britain and the take your clothes off version, probably dating back to the emergence of The Evergreen State College. Go geoducs! 2y

mandarchy @Ruthiella by the 12 year old, I meant my son. I'm not sure how old Arthur turns in this book, but the audience is K-3. It was just funny to ask my son, go over the rules just to make sure we were talking about the same game. 2y

mandarchy @julesG I've had 2nd grade teachers ask me to remove books with kissing. Kissing is apparently inappropriate because it leads to, you-know-what. 2y
