I must say, as much as I love Negan in the show (...ahem...Jeffery Dean Morgan...❤), I found that the season of "war" with the Saviors was just too much action action action. On the contrary, I find this to be the best part so far of the graphic novels. I still haven't watched the last half of the final season. I seem to do this with shows I love. I think part of my brain thinks that if I don't watch it, it didn't end.
so-soGotta be honest — I almost bailed. About halfway through this third compendium, I was getting so bored with the tired storyline of finding yet another group of living and then everyone killing each other. I promised to finish this one and call it good on the series. But then they introduced the Whispers. So maybe they can finally get into some deeper truths about whether humans are merely animals or not. ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
I‘m 2 books behind on my Goodreads 2021 Reading Challenge, so I finally picked up Compendium 3 from NYPL.
pickStarted off dull, rapidly improved with the introduction of negan and finished on a high (or perhaps a low for the characters.) Rinsed it in two days- negan is such a strong villian- completely psychopathic which made the storyline so compelling. I prefer the art of invincible but its still so well drawn and the writing is supeb. Ill keep my eyes open for a copy of compendium 4 but will read somthing a little less violent in the meantime.
pickI‘m a huge fan of zombie/survival/cursed earth fiction so I obviously was a huge fan of the TV show. I wasn‘t a big reader at the time so I was familiar with the tv show before I read these books, but I gotta say these bad boys didn‘t disappoint! The story follows the same plot points but there so much more in the book (isn‘t there always?) if you‘re a fan of the show you will definitely be a fan of the book!
Well I have not had the chance to sit and read for the #LetsGetGraphicWeeklongMarathon because I have been cleaning out my oldest's room so my youngest can move into it. I found a second volume of The Walking Dead: Compendium 3 buried under a lot of stuff. There's a tiny tear and wrinkle on the spine, but if anyone would like this volume, I'll send it to them. Just comment below, and I'll pick someone at random by Thursday 1/18.
This book has been staring at me for the last week. I am so upset by the first section (not with the book itself, just events in the story) that I think I need a slight break. I don't think I have the fortitude right now for the Negin storyline.

9 hours into #24in48. Just had a snack of strawberries and VT cheddar, and took a short break to walk the dog. Diving back in now! Yay Zombies! (I Am Not Neegan!!!)
Unplanned #24in48 readathon for me. Had a random stack of library books with me plus ebooks on my iPad, plus scrounged up mother-in-law's snacks. I got the ice cream specifically but the rest was just around. Helping her after hip surgery, so I need to stay up anyway. Ok, let's do this!
Today's super eclectic #libraryhaul 😁 watched a few Walking Dead episodes tonight so I think I will settle in with the quieter Haruf novel for the evening.

I just finished reading All Out War Part 2 and I was sooooo shocked by the way everything ended! I have 3 or 4 more volumes in this one but I'm sure I'm going to love them as much as the others! And I can't wait to see what the show does!

pickWow...just an amazing ride. In this volume you pass the AMC series, and, man, does it impress! I cannot wait to see how it gets adapted (or doesn't)! Just SO good: from the artwork to the storylines. Amazing.

pick? I finished this one up today. The first half was really interesting, with "Bat Boy." The second half went in a different direction that I'm not totally on board with at this point (but keeping the theme of civilization). The new Big Bad is an intriguing approach. The ending...well, I'm not going to talk about the ending. ? Also, these compendiums are just huge!

TBRTuesday Part 3... Plus the books I promised myself I'd read before the series returned this fall...
pickFinished Compendium 3 in my Walking Dead re-read. The Negan arc still has to be my favorite storyline in the series. And somehow the deaths in issue #144 hit me harder the second time around. Silence the Whisperers!
