5K and 10K Training

I‘ve been pretty AWOL lately. Somehow, I ended up signing up for my first 10K with only 12 weeks to train… and it was the middle of winter and all the blizzards were coming (peer pressure is real!). I got lost on what day of the week it was. I missed some posts. I‘ve spent many weekends mostly asleep. Luckily, the race is in three weeks (5/20) so I‘ll be back to normal after that. I promise.

5K and 10K Training | Brian Clarke

Completed another 5K run!

This morning I ran for St. Jude‘s Children Hospital in an effort to fund the end of childhood cancer in honor of my godson.

It was a beautiful day around the Philadelphia Zoo and such wonderful spirit in the air! It was an honor to be a part of this event.

My MS hasn‘t held me back yet. I love the sense of accomplishment that comes with placing my foot across that finish line!

My second official 5K is complete !

As some of you know, I have posted before about doing the MS walks and recently ran a 5K for the Wounded Hero Project, and now here I am completing another 5K!

What made this one extra fun was the humidity - I think it was about 95% with a heat index of 87. This is at 8:00 in the morning!

But still, I had a great time, and loved supporting a local fire department.

I love to go for walks and jogs, and I have done the walk for MS four years in a row, but THIS was my first official 5K run!

I ran for the Wounded Hero Project, in honor of our vets, and not only was it for a great cause, but I managed to finish in under 40 minutes.

Was I first to cross the finish line? Of course not!

But I had the best time, you bet I finished with a huge smile on my face.

Today made me so proud to be an American.
