My husband finds old glassware in our woods, some of it dating back to the late 1800s, where an old homestead used to be. Many of them look to be tiny worlds unto themselves within. They often remind me of faerie stories I‘ve read. Or perhaps stories I will create someday. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This morning, my daughters noticed this single, perfect mushroom in our yard. My response was that it looked like a perfect faerie house, & my 12yo said "Yes! Like Tinkerbell!" So, this post is to ask this question:
What book immediately springs to mind when you see this picture?
Faeries by Allan lee & Brian froud. It's Such a lovely read! The illustrations are so captivating and the book it's self is as if it is a Fae field Guide or a scrapbook. I hold this book so dearly to my heart now 💗#allanlee #brianfroud #faeires #folklore
I came home from work tonight to find my new Faerie Magazine had arrived! This counts as a book, right?
#bookishgoods Two of my favorite things. I've had this one a number of years now.
#bookwithpictures My sister has always known about my love of fantasy and mythology. When we learned Alan Lee was assisting with the design of the LOTR movies, she gave me this book. ❤#seasonsreadings2016 @RealLifeReading
I have many #artrelatedbooks, almost all are of faeries. This was my first. I remember taking my older copy on long family road trips during the summer, looking into the woods passing by the window, and wondering about another world. Years later I got the anniversary edition as well, but couldn't give up the original that had gone so many places with me.
