This book was so interesting and I shed more light on what it was like living during the age of when America was born. I know part of the book was fiction but it definitely stirred a sense of patriotism in me. Highly recommend.
Even though I sat through a football game in 100 degree weather yesterday, I have finally broken out my fall dishes. Looking forward to a lazy day and hoping to finish the tagged book
I get up at the same time on weekends that I do during the week because it allows me at least one hour where my entire house is quiet. Hot coffee, leggings and a good book are all I need!
Eliza Hamilton was more than General Schuyler‘s daughter, and Hamilton‘s devoted wife. She was a frontierwoman, patriot, activist and warrior of her husband‘s legacy. A woman who personally knew 12 of the first 16 presidents among other Who‘s Who of American history. A forgiving woman who deeply loved her husband and fought to expose his works through many of his writings - this government, this nation would not exist without his efforts.
Finished this today - it was ok. There were some things about it I really liked, and some things I didnt like at all... but it does make me want to rewatch the musical! I will get it in the mail ASAP #lmpbc @Jerdencon @kellyann28 @TheBookKeepers
I'm slowly making my way through this one - definitely wont be done by March 1st, but I'm hoping to get through most of it this weekend. I'm really enjoying it, but work has been more nuts than usual so I haven't really had the energy for historical fiction... I'm only about 200 pages in

Enjoying the house to myself this morning with some #audiostitching - it‘s been years since I‘ve done any cross stitch, but I was randomly in the mood.
Finished! I‘ll get this in the mail ASAP! @Johanna414 @kellyann28 @Jerdencon #lmpbc
I love this book!!! I enjoyed it so much. I have a fascination with Alexander Hamilton and his family!!! Love it!!!!
This is definitely a case of "It's not you, it's me...." with this book. In 2020 I learned that fictional stories about real people don't mesh with me ? This will get mailed out this week! #LMPBC

Audiobook. I really enjoyed this (long) story (20 hours) about Alexander Hamilton's wife, Eliza. It's a novel but rooted in history so I did learn quite a bit. The story is well laid out, well told and well narrated.

I was going to start the tagged book for this round since most of you picked it but I realized it‘s 621 pages! I don‘t have a problem with big books but I don‘t know if that‘s enough time for everyone to finish in a month. Let me know what you guys think... @Johanna414 @kellyann28 @TheBookKeepers
We can always pick one of the other choices..
The Girl in the Blue Coat, the Hollywood Daughter, or the Classic Grill
I really enjoyed this one. I haven‘t seen Hamilton yet but now I want to!
I loved listening to this book. Here's your chance for a fabulous deal! 🎧
Great insight into our American Revolution and politics of the day. Eliza had a lot on her plate and was good to hear her story!
I listened to the audiobook version of this book and I enjoyed it very much. It gave me a “behind-the-scenes” look at the American Revolution and the beginnings of our country. Eliza was a remarkable woman, intelligent and creative. She also seemed a bit naive when it came to Alexander‘s indiscretions. She did love him and was very concerned that he have his rightful place in history. She would have loved Lin Manuel-Miranda! #BookSpinBonanza
Found my next audiobook! I have lots of sewing to do! It‘s been in my Audible library for a little while, so here goes. #24B4Monday
What a beautifully intriguing blend of history and fiction weaved by a unique point of view. Eliza is so complex behind such an extraordinary but flawed man. Her strength and wit is compelling. How incredible it is to think that our founding fathers children played together and they ate around the same tables. The passion of the people of this time to want to build a nation where all could prosper. The sacrifices they made for that dream.
I was drawn like a moth to a flame by this intriguing and enlightening historical fiction book...MY DEAR HAMILTON did not disappoint. https://www.bluestockingreviews.com/post/my-dear-hamilton
It‘s long, but definitely worth the read. I learned so much about the founding of our country and feel like I have a better understanding of society during the time.
This was a rollercoaster of a book, and a rollercoaster of my feelings toward it. But overall a pick for sure.
Frustrating listen... to me Eliza and Hamilton‘s relationship is one of subtle emotional abuse. I don‘t find her steadfastness admirable so much as sad. I very much understand that that was more the norm at that time, but it‘s still annoying.
Hamilton is prone to fits and tantrums and is selfish. Eliza does the best she can, but is too much of a doormat.
Yeah, yeah, he‘s a genius... meh.
This story is truly wonderful ~ listening on Audible is such a treat.
Confession time⏳~ I shouldn't have...but I did. I couldn't pass up this deal, especially after I had enjoyed America's First Daughter by Stephanie Dray on audiobook 🎧 last year. I know I'll find understanding in this group. 🤣
Eliza Schuyler Hamilton was my kind of girl. She played a pivotal role in the founding of the U. S. She states,”I was SOMEONE before I met Alexander Hamilton.” This is well-researched & it could be argued that she earned founder status in her own right. Her chronicle is a Who‘s Who of the N.Y. frontier, the Revolution, and the first yrs. of the new republic. Thanks to the authors,Eliza commands the narrative & hers is a voice that should be heard.
Currently reading My Dear Hamilton by Stephanie Dray & Laura Kamoie 📚 I love a good turn of phrase and these authors know how to craft beautiful sentences 💖 #booksbrewsandbooze #mydearhamilton #elizaschuyler #elizaschuylerhamilton #stephaniedray #laurakamoie
#Ebookdeal for today. I enjoyed this one (although it‘s fiction, not memoir/biography). #kindledeal #Hamilton
This was a wonderful historical fiction written by two authors Stephanie Dray&,Laura Kamoie. It is told by Eliza Hamilton, starting from the beginning of the revolution her trials and tribulations not only with her husband but with the politics.Hamilton was a passionate believer in the foundation of this country and she stood by him in life and after his death. Wonderful descriptions, fact and fiction interwoven, seamless story telling.
All of us were part of making this great nation.
So many strived to make it a better place when they saw injustice happening. I am saddened to see where we are today.
I have tried a million times to get the military time off my kindle oasis and nothing works it always goes back 🙄
Any ideas?!?
"Because none of our servants were breeding..." Ugh, what a phrase...
👍🏻 for this Goodreads giveaway.
Afternoon of treats - reading time, cup of tea & a blueberry almond muffin.
Taking a poll....Should I finally listen to the Hamilton Soundtrack before, during or after I read the book? 🎵🎶
This was good book. I liked that Eliza was telling the story. The beginning of the book really drew me in. Eliza and Hamilton meeting, marrying and starting a family fascinated me. But there were a lot of dry spots in the middle, talking nothing but politics. The end, of course got interesting again. I would not reread this one but glad I read it.
Determined to finish my book today so I can start one of my new books. Lots of coffee today!! If you haven‘t tried highlander grogg coffee you should 😍
Mickey leggings, footy pajamas and nap time means time to read! It‘s a cold, rainy day here. I just wish I could get up to get coffee and a snack!
This makes the 4th time the title has been mentioned.
I am so smitten with Lafayette!
I am loving this book more and more!
