Upon my second reading of The Diabolic and The Empress I in preparation for release of The Nemesis later this month I am only more creeped out by these books...in a good way.

Holy crap the whiplash of this book hurts!
I was already having a day where I cried at everything and then the last 1/4 of this happened and I just melted into a puddle at the betrayal. Also, Why do I let authors hurt me with their star-crossed lovers romance?! Also, there's kinda time and space travel which I am ABSOLUTE TRASH FOR.
I'm reading this for the Kpop challenge for the song Rocket by Seventeen needing a book set in space
Where do I start? I knew going into it I had some issues with the author. This book amplified upon that ten-fold. The few things I enjoyed about it were completely obliterated. The author doesn't show proper care & respect for her story or characters. She tries desperately to reach for shock value & leaves behind small, messy details. The main character is often immobile with wasted potential, being acted upon vs acting. Huge disappointment.
This arrived in the mail yesterday! Thank you, @MommyOfTwo - I can‘t wait to dive into this series. 😄

Let's make this clear- whenever you think you have things figured out, this book will surprise you. I have never read a book that had this many twists and turns! It's crazy. I've given up guessing at what the hell is going on. It ended quite dramatically.
Insane series..but its a good one. 😎
Oh man did this book have so many twists and turns I loved it, so hard to put down! A great follow up to diabolic!!!!
1. Whatever It Takes by Imagine Dragon
2. It‘s pretty good
3. Probably IT by Stephan King, over 1000 pages
4. Whomever wants to do this
Question: do you reread the first book in a series before going on to next book or dive right in? I feel like I need to reread The Diabolic before I start the Empress! I usually don‘t reread though - too many books and not enough time!

Everything may look gross and brown but it sure is nice to be reading outside.
Up next. I‘m so glad that libraries loan each other books. My library only had the ebook for this one.
This book and the tagged book which I need to get from the library are the only books on my #TBR list for March. I‘m sure I will read more but not sure what yet.

Yes! Just the sequel I was looking for! I thought that this book focused more on the political and strategic side of the story, but at the same time still held the element of adventure. I love how S. J. Kincaid developed the relationships between characters even further and how she expressed Nemesis's adjustment into her new life.
Holy CRAP I don't know what just happened, but it was definitely EPIC and EXPLOSIVE. Kincaid really kicks everything up a notch with this sequel — the stakes, the intrigue, and the drama. Not to mention that utterly unexpected, heart-stopping ending! If you're in the mood for some fast-paced, imaginative political sci-fi, I highly recommend this series. You won't regret it! ★★★★☆.

I found out that this book was out and was completely surprised. I mean I can't wait to read it, but the first book ended so well I wasn't expecting a sequel! "The Diabolic" is my all time favorite book and I'm excited to see the continuation of the story! ?
Sometimes when I read a book and I can gauge how the story will end. The Empress is not that kind of book. I enjoyed reading the The Diabolic. I was not prepared for the book to end the way that it did. SJ Kincaid is officially one of my faves. #theempress #sjkincaid
I understand why Neveni did what she did, but at the same time I am annoyed with her for doing it.
Now Nemesis is human after she and Tyrus almost killed the interdict. She finally made love to Tyrus and that scene was beautiful and classy. Bravo! #theempress
I didn‘t expect Nemesis to have a change of heart. I think that she is changing. I also, think that something is going to happen to Tyrus. I‘m worried about him. #theempress #sjkincaid

I knew that Nemesis was going to have to deal with a lot after what happened in The Diabolic. However, I wasn‘t prepared for what happened on page 14. #theempress #sjkincaid
Came home from a crappy day at work to some #BookMail!!!!!! Gotta love #GoodreadsGiveaways!! Now I have to buy the first book though 😁📖🔖🤑

I was really disappointed with this. They stretched the plot of The Diabolic to the point of ridiculousness. The Diabolic was excellent and could have easily been a stand alone but I think that YA authors are pressured to try to make everything into a series and this time it definitely didn't work 😟
I just finished The Diabolic and it was fantastic! I don't often read sequels right in a row but I'm diving right into this!
Diabolical 2. This doesn't really go with the cover of the first book. #coverlove #YAedition
