FEATURING: A DANGEROUS CROSSING by Rachel Rhys

A voyage of a life time for Lily? Did it turn out that way?

DANGEROUS CROSSING was a study of people, their secrets, their lives, and their observations.

Historical fiction fans as well as mystery lovers definitely will want to read DANGEROUS CROSSING.

A FAVORITE of 2018.

Today‘s Prompt: SHIP

DANGEROUS CROSSING had me hooked from the opening sentence. Knowing something was going to happen on the “ship” that had someone arrested when they docked, kept the mystery and intrigue high.

DANGEROUS CROSSING was a study of people, their secrets, their lives, and their observations.

I didn‘t know what to expect from this book and I was pleasantly surprised. I have a soft spot for WWII books and Australia as well as mysteries and this book combines all three. I will say that Lily is so naive, but that helps a lot of the mystery to unfold.

Melissa_J Oh good! I bought this one recently but had yet to hear anything about it. 2y

Strong ending, but such a long, slow time to get there! I thought this was going to be more suspenseful than it was, and feel a bit misled from the synopsis. While the ending was very strong, the book definitely took its time to get there! I voluntarily reviewed an eARC copy provided by the publisher.

I just received this delightful piece of #bookmail . A historical thriller? Yes, please! But @atriabooks screwed up my picture with that big orange sticker (you should have stuck it on the back!) #books #newrelease #thriller #historicalfiction #DangerousCrossing #RachelRhys

Icewineanne Received an advance copy too & the publisher put their sticker in the upper right of the cover.....🙄 2y
Icewineanne ...don‘t get me wrong....love the chance to be an early reader but i also enjoy looking at a “clean” cover while perusing 😉 2y

I was so bored at about 35% into this that I skipped to the last three chapters. I disliked that it was written in present tense. I didn't realize until the end that it's based on a true story, which makes it more interesting, but I don't think this novel does that story justice.

I made my decision. Going purely on the cover I'm sure I'm going to love it 🤓💞

Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I‘m guilty of that!! I‘m so sucker for beautiful covers! That‘s how I fell in love with Beatriz Williams‘s books!!📚😘 2y

Spotted in the supermarket yesterday: they've changed the cover for the paperback. I miss the ocean liner.

I bought this one mostly because of the cover. I love the mix of image font...and it's set on an ocean liner. 🚢📚

Saturday night book: Rachel Rhys's A Dangerous Crossing. The blurb I have says it's a cross between Christie and Highsmith, which is an exciting idea.

Stephjones01 Just finished it and an enjoyable book but wasn‘t Christie or Highsmith standard, IMO 2y
