I think I‘m bias for any Agatha Christie books. I‘ve see so many of the series that I should always know who did it but I‘m usually fooled again when reading the books. This one is no exception. My mother got me into murder mysteries and more specifically Agatha Christie so there is also a comfort in reading them which is odd because it is about solving a murder after all. This one is short but excellent. Poirot never lets me down. I adore him!

I'm glad I found the audio version of this one. I think since it was originally written as a play and adapted as a novel, the audio added back that storytelling element. I liked how it was all set in one room of the house. I did guess the killer before it was revealed but I always love how Poirot reveals it in the end. The narrator was great, I was laughing out loud at times, he really brought the characters to life. And I love Hastings naivety 😅

What a cozy thriller!

This is a quick Poirot book with a lot of the usual Poirot shenanigans, but nothing too memorable. 3.5⭐️

An early January recap since I won‘t finish my current read (tagged) today. I‘ve highlighted the five that aren‘t Agatha Christie books. Might revise my 2020 goal and need to focus more on the #readingeurope2020 challenge.

Another famous country house murder mystery with endless red herrings. This play is a first piece that Christie wrote for the stage. It was later novelised by Charles Osborne.

A short and quick read; a locked door, theft and murder and only a few suspects. A predictable book with little surprises and some parts of the plot lifted from other books. Not one of the best stories.
