This really reminded me of the 1970s Star Wars movies. Tess is an outlaw rebel ship captain who smuggles people and other cargo for a rebel group that fights an oppressive interstellar government. Adventure ensues. Nothing too deep here, just fun spaceship chases, fights, and a love interest who happens to be a bounty hunter.

This was an amazing book. Again, Amanda Bouchet does an amazing job creating a swoon worthy love interest and plot! Loved this, especially if you like star wars read it!

She meets Shade Ganavan, a charming some time bounty hunter and while attracted to him is not sure she can trust him. This was not as strong a start as her previous Kingmaker 🔻

Finished book one of the #24b4monday readathon! Overall, it was a swoony romance romp with a sci fi twist that I enjoyed. Was it cheesy and predictable? Yes. But sometimes that‘s totally okay with me. #romantsy

I loved the Kingmaker series by this author, but this one doesn‘t feel as natural with the sci fi.

I loved Amanda Bouchet‘s A Promise of Fire series. So interested to see what she‘s done next!

I absolutely loved the kingmaker cronicles by her, great read if you haven't tried it full of spit fire witty comeback romance and mythology, and now she has a new book! From what I here it's supposed to be some star wars elements.

@Cinfhen @4thhouseontheleft @BarbaraTheBibliophage I think a approached the #booked2019 challenge in a very haphazard way. When I look at my Goodreads challenge I realized I had books to fit prompts if I looked at it as a whole- instead of season. So I may finish it yet!

Really enjoyed this SciFi/Fantasy romance between a bounty hunter with conflicted motivations and a rebel with a secret past. Will he turn her in? Can she trust him? Can they stand up against the oppressive, corrupt space overlords? Great dialogue, rich romance, complex supporting characters, and good set up for the next novel without being a cliffhanger.

Any Amanda Bouchet fans out there? This is the first in her latest sci-fi series, and it‘s on (US) Kindle sale.

getting some reading in on my Sunday morning 😀

This was a fun romp of a book! The first and last 50 pages were a roller coaster. I really liked the storyline about the vaccines. And Bonk!

This was an enjoyable romance in a sci-fi setting, but I liked but did not love it. I think there were too many instances of failure to communicate in the romance part of the story, and some of the biological sci fi struck me as somewhat unlikely. However, the story was still an enjoyable read, so I'll give it a pick.

Just finished what I think is the first science fiction romance I‘ve ever read. And it was so much fun! Tess, captain of a lovable crew of rebel-aiding misfits, is trying to outrun both the evil Dark Watch and also her mysterious past when she meets Shade, an intriguing space rogue. Recommend if you‘re looking for a fun romance with some action, adventure, and high stakes. @Sourcebooks

Sunday vibes with books & drinks & brunch & Captain Marvel 💫 I‘m #currentlyreading Nightchaser by Amanda Bouchet, which is a science fiction romance following Tess, a rebel captain with a secret past who runs into space rogue Shade while fleeing the nefarious Dark Watch. So far it‘s a really fun read and exactly what I was in the mood for. I‘ve never really read a scifi romance before, but I‘ll have to pick up more after this.

Went to Barnes & Noble and decided to have a #treatyoself evening 😂 These 3 books look like super fun reads; I‘m in the mood for romance-centric reads at the moment, so hopefully these fit the bill! Also, the candle/ornament were 75% off, because Barnes & Noble gets me.

I enjoyed this book, even though it felt like s familiar story with common tropes. I did not find it unputdownable, but I was also happy to pick it up and read for a few minutes between work, homework, housework and teaching- and with all those constraints on time this was perfect! It reminded me a little of Firefly and Bouchet‘s first trilogy. I prefer strong character driven books but this was close enough with characters I liked.

This space adventure was a great read! Action-packed and layered, this book was hard to put down. Must read!

Such a nice surprise from #Sourcebooks when I got back home today....look at my #bookhaul ! 🎉 I entered a contest on FB because I really wanted to read Amanda Bouchet‘s Nightchaser (first in a new sci-fi series), and I ended up receiving all of these! YAY!!! It feels like a second Christmas! 🤣🤣❤️

I liked this one. The ending was fast-paced and action packed. My only complaint was romance, it developed way too fast for my taste.

A fun sci-fi #romantsy. A female Robin Hood in a Star Wars like world, with secrets, a love of books and a cat named Bonk.

First impulse book buy of the year! I don‘t have high hopes but it seemed the right choice for my mood.

I am usually a huge fan of romance and alpha males, call it a guilty pleasure, but I just wasn‘t into what developed between the MCs. Outside of sexual chemistry there was no real explanation for what one saw in the other. I also didn‘t understand just what it was about him that made Tess trust him so immediately. I downloaded an advance copy of Nightchaser from netgalley. It was a heck of a lot of fun. Evil empire, heroic princess, sexy bounty hunter, daring escapes, impossible odds. Yes, very Star Wars-y. And I mean that as a compliment. Definitely recommended to fans of Linnea Sinclair, Lindsey Buroker, The Fifth Element, and Jupiter Ascending. #sciencefictionromance #sfr #amandabouchet
