(Not the tagged book) this was such an amazing and empowering book about Gloria who finds herself dumped by her husband for a younger model and then thrust out of the dystopian bunker complex into what she believes will be a nightmare dystopia. In fact, she‘s being lied to and she has to figure out what matters most to her. Check trigger warnings for sure, but it‘s overall an excellent read.

I was so excited to see another book by Jesse Mihalik, I've loved all of her other series, and this first book in her latest series did not disappoint. Riela is an untrained mage who gets rescued from death while fighting a monster. Garrick, her incredibly powerful rescuer takes her back to his enchanted castle. (Cont)

CoffeeK8 As they begin to trust each other, they team up to try to break free from the trap Garrick has been in for decades. It is slow burning and romantic with two strong characters who take time to trust each other.

I took a while to warm up to both Shiloh and Carey, but as I got to know them I couldn‘t believe what complex and lovely characters they turned out to be.

Shiloh and Cary were best friends in high school but drifted away from each other through misunderstandings and hurt feelings. This felt so believable and raw, I had such empathy for the two of them. (Cont)

An excellent Crime Procedural surrounding the seizure of illegally gotten human remains and historical/cultural artifacts. The book details the case and then the larger legal and philosophical implications of what the grave robber had done, and how the FBI and US government addressed it. (Cont.)

CoffeeK8 The scope of the number of illegal items and human remains found in a house in Indiana is almost overwhelming, as is the callous disregard for human dignity on the part of the grave robber. It was chilling how little he cared for or respected the human part of the human remains.

Thank you to #NetGalley and %HarperCollinsFocus for an audio ARC of this book. The narrator was excellent.

A retelling of Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing set in a world that stays black and white until you find your soulmate. The story focused on Beatrice and Ben estranged soulmates and their group of friends who gather together for the celebrity wedding of Oliver (Beatrice's best friend and mega-movie star) to Imogen (Beatrice's sister). Hijinks, romance and misunderstandings abound. (Cont.)

This book is a terrific blend of true crime, scandal and art history. The story of a woman who walked into one of the most famous art galleries in the world and convinced one of the most respected art dealers her forged painting was the real deal. Which lead to an $80 million dollar forgery ring that lasted years and pulled in/tricked many of the best art historians, authenticators and art connoisseurs. (Cont.)

CoffeeK8 The cast of characters was fantastic and the book's organization and research was detailed and clearly outlined. I listened to the audio version of this book, which was expertly narrated by the author, Ben Avrich. He also directed the documentary about this case, "Made You Look". It's apparent that the author did so much research to write this book, and I applaud her dedication to the story, the truth and her attempts to appear unbiased. This was a terrible tragedy and it appears as if justice wasn't truly served in the outcome of the trial. The police work and the trial itself were meticulously detailed and as the reader I was able to follow all the different lines of thinking and possible motives and outcomes. (Cont.)

CoffeeK8 However, at times it felt a little dry and I think there were moments where the author could have injected a little bit of personal opinion or perspective. Overall, this was a well written and well planned book that seems designed for true crime aficionados.

The narrator of the audiobook was excellent and really helped convey the complex information easily. Thanks to Netgalley and Tantor Audio for an audio ARC of this book for review.

This book was just so much fun! Our heroine, Evie attempts to save her gym-bro neighbor from an zombie attack believing he can't defend himself, only to find out that he is a lethal vampire who is more than able to defend himself. He also has the nerve to get angry at Evie for attempting to save him (admittedly, throwing a burrito at a charging zombie is not super effective, but it was all she had at the moment). (Cont.)

CoffeeK8 The duo then sets out to try to figure out why the zombies were released from their prison and how to save their neighbors from attack. Evie and Max's banter and chemistry were excellent and the book was overall just a really enjoyable read.

Her latest novel is a fictionalized account of the story of her sister's murder, and with it's publication, Natalie becomes embroiled in a number of fantastical plots perpetrated by different people in her community who are trying to keep their own secrets from coming out. I am such a fan of this series, that when the audiobook came up on Netgalley, I jumped on it so fast and could not put it down! Thank you so much to #Netgalley and #HachetteAudio for an Audio ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. (Cont)

CoffeeK8 Rosie (or RoFo to you Duckers) is the immortal daughter of the Trickster god. (Cont.) 7mo
CoffeeK8 However, Tanria is in trouble and the portals are breaking. Adam Lee, the genius inventor of the portals, comes back to try to figure out what is going wrong, which leads to Rosie, Duckers, Adam and Zeddie becoming trapped in Tanria. This is where the mystery and romance really picks up. Rosie and Adam are so sweet and their relationship is full of such respect and humor. 7mo
