This book is chalked-full of great quotes.

My dear friend got me this book for Christmas after I lost my mom 6 years ago to cancer and now my grandma and aunt within the past six months. It was a much needed read.

So impressed by Lysa‘s writing style. Some authors try to be authentic and pithy—Lysa is this way without trying. She‘s fully genuine and transparent in a very relatable way. This book is wonderful both for those who have experienced a life-altering tragedy and those dealing with general disappointment in life.

Yes.. I'm that person that likes to highlight lines in these types of books. I do also write notes in a separate notebook, but I can't help to still highlight, highlight, highlight.
This book is beautiful and has blessed me tremendously.

Day 3 ? This one reminds me of Psalm 86:11 "give me an undivided heart that I may fear Your Name." My affections have been divided between people's approval & love for God. This year, God's been stripping away all the things I've loved instead of Him, & I'm so thankful for His kindness. What's kept you from loving God with all of your heart, soul, and mind? I need community and although I've read this book & listened to it on audiobook, this new group consists of ladies I can be real with. I finished my current audiobook as I sat in the parking lot at work. During a break, I checked my email and was pleasantly surprised. I'm all set to begin listening in my way home tonight. 🎧

A must read by this author. Full of scripture and truth.

Lysa‘s book Made to Crave was really helpful for me, and I listened to this because I knew she‘d walked a long, hard road the last few years and I wanted to hear her journey through it. As always, this book is saturated in Scripture and is written straight from the heart.

The astonishing rawness, and realness in which Lysa talks about what she‘s faced in the last few years is truly inspiring.

I am in a Bible study group and we are watching the videos that go along with this book. Disappointment. It's all around us at varying degrees. How do we deal with it? How do we learn from it? And where should we turn to get us through it? This is a pretty good book that makes you think of things you may not have.

God loves me too much to answer my prayers at any other time than the right time and in any other way than the right way.

A completely random find at the bookstore this week; I would typically never browse the Spirituality section. Sometimes the book chooses us, not the other way round.

Cancer has changed my family‘s life and this book has been good for my soul. 📖🙏

Wow! This book contains amazing encouragement for people dealing with disappointments and struggles. Lysa doesn‘t hold anything back but makes it clear she‘s fighting big battles in her own life. She shares hope and help. I have bookmarked several sections I will revisit often. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

I think this means that I need to look forward to sharing these opportunities with Jesus rather than anticipating that I have to suffer alone.

Lysa is a meticulous author, one you can almost envision the paint strokes of each word in each sentence. She crafts her writing with a beautiful intentionality. I've happily devoured her works for years. In her latest book, It's Not Supposed to Be This Way, she returns full force, and takes the smallest of concepts, dust, and molds a masterful answer to "Where is God when...."

Recognizing the kind of trigger situations is a painful part of navigating thru life.

I've had the great pleasure of reading 5 of Lysa's books, 'The Best Yes' is my favorite to date, but her newest one 'It's Not Supposed To Be This Way' definetly still spoke into my heart. Beyond grateful to spend last evening with my sister and friend in Kokomo hearing her share. "We are so quick to judge the quality of our lives and the reliability of God based on individual events rather than the eventual good God is working on putting together.

Sometimes it isn't enough to choose to refuse to be pulled in by the world. Sometimes you have to realize that you are being attacked by Satan. Move along Satan, there is no chance of you undermining my salvation and I'm going to fight with all I have to encourage others to pursue eternal life. #itsnotsupposedtobethisway

My electric blanket has been in more photos this week then people. We, my blanket and I, have a very dependent relationship- I turn it on and it warms me up 😆. My heart is being treated to some pampering too, thanks to the always lovely speaker of truth, Lysa TerKeurst. Hoping to meet her at an event next Thursday. Fingers crossed.

This is the type of book I would give to a Christian friend struggling with circumstances in her life. In fact I am thinking about giving it to my cousin with twin boys in the NICU, one of which is not doing well. 3.5⭐

It is not going as I had planned. Coming home a day early really messed up my planned schedule. Taking turns driving on ice last night, was not great, an 8 hour car ride turned into 10 hours.

Hotel lobby. Family around table talking. Me sitting in a chair reading. This is typical of my family gatherings.

Finally someone who doesn't lie to us by telling us to fake it until we make it!

This is another reason I'll have a hard time finishing this book today... I want to post all the quotes! 🤦🏻‍♀️😆

I'm hoping to read 50% and finish this before the year ends... TALL ORDER, for me. Very good and raw commentary, just very heavy for me to take in all at once. She is slowly starting to answer all of the questions and make right all of the accusations she's put forth so far in the book. 💚

Starting this tonight. I got a copy through NetGalley and, for me, the holidays kind of make me crabby. I look around and want to be thankful but the back of my mind is thinking "this isn't where I wanted to be at this point in my life." I wanted to own a house. Work in a library or other book affiliated job. I never expected to have kids (or get married). I never expected to be living 900 miles away from my parents and family. I need this now. ♡
