Not really my thing but there's no denying the power behind many of these poems.

Captivating from beginning to end. There's so much here that resonates! Truth of a life that has fought to love and find peace and happiness.
Love, pain, identity, politics this book of poetry broke my heart at the same time as bringing light.
I read this between July 3 & 14th and gave it 4.5 ⭐️ on Good Reads. A moving collection of poetry that spans love, gender, loss, romance, family and current US politics. Gibson‘s voice is strong & their use of language is lush.
3 books of poetry, much of which I've drunk like water these past few hours and one non-fiction book that looks small but is going to be much more than its size suggests. Sometimes a little poetry is needed to break your heart and remind you of the beauty of the world and language.
Andrea Gibson is a gem whose words grip with all the artistry of old-fashioned poetry, all the raw emotion and radical political back-droppings of Instagram poetry, and all the compelling flow of spoken word. Very few misses in this powerful collection of hits. TW: mental illness, self-harm, suicidal ideation, gun violence. This was my first Andrea Gibson and it will not be my last. I devoured this in about 2 hours on a train delay!! It was amazing, sad, raw, pure, funny. Wow.

Excerpts From 'Your Life'
They are going to kill your own god
So you can love for the first time
They are going to keep telling you
Your heartbeat is a pre existing condition.
They are going to keep telling you
You are a crime of nature
You're going to look at all your options
And choose conviction."
Excerpt From 'Good Light'
"When they told me god was always watching
I said who wants to worship a diary thief?
I didn't dare say who wants to worship anyone
Who would see everything and just sit there doing nothing"
I just finished this amazing volume of poetry. It shares and evokes so many feelings.....memories....
Gay centered, and deep, the poems 'Orlando', and 'America,Reloaded' brought me to tears. I loved this!!
Andrea/Andrew Gibson's words on the death of Mary Oliver. Gorgeous words. 💔
Another wonderful collection of poetry by Andrea Gibson. They write poems about politics, about love, about homophobia and Lyme's disease with fluid grace and skill. #queerbooks #nonbinarybooks #poems
