Allow Me to Introduce Myself
Allow Me to Introduce Myself | Helen Harris
5 posts
The poems within this book demonstrate some of lifes ups and downs. Its pages bring both confrontation and joy. It gives the reader a chance to see different points of view, seeing how the other person might feel. For example, You Do Understand and An Endless Love Says Good Night both help you to see joy of a loved one and helps the heart of someone who has lost love. This book is like having a good friend who listens and counsels.

I can write it before I figure out an app. Plus, I like to write things by hand.
Give it a try... @BarbaraTheBibliophage @tpixie @LibrarianRyan @gradcat @DGRachel @Lindy @DarcysMom @Cathythoughts

sixgun @Spencer_Labbe I forgot to tag you... Which makes you special with this line all to yourself. 6y
LibrarianRyan Very interesting. I almost asked what wall but figured it out by the end. And I too am never warm. 6y
sixgun @LibrarianRyan I thought about explaining, but I think most will figure it out. 6y

BarbaraTheBibliophage Thanks for playing along! Mr. B and I are busy with genealogy too! 6y
sixgun @BarbaraTheBibliophage isn't it just the most fascinating detective story? 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @sixgun Yes! He‘s found so many distant cousins from all over the world. For me it‘s more about how far back I can go. 6y
Spencer_Labbe Wow so many animals I love it! 6y
Spencer_Labbe Ahab I got my own line, yay! 6y
sixgun @BarbaraTheBibliophage I can trace back 9 generations, which puts me about 1750. It helps I have a very well published and researched side of the family. So one book alone takes my grandfather's surname to pre-revolutionary war. 6y
sixgun @Spencer_Labbe so many many animals. I'd say the cats encourage reading. They never want me to move. 6y
tpixie A great #20! Happy Birthday to your daughter!!! 🎂 🧶 🐶🐱🐰📚👩🏻‍✈️🌞 6y
gradcat Omigod! I think you might be my hero...David Tennant, Perry Mason, cats, law enforcement, dogs, genealogist, rabbits, thrillers, oh my!! 😂😍👍. Oh, plus— “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” to your daughter! 🎂🎉🎊🎈🎁 (edited) 6y
sixgun @tpixie Thank you. She's such a card. It was a great day, filled with everything she wanted to do. Today, I'm exhausted. I highly doubt she will be. 6y
sixgun @gradcat I kind of felt like we may be kindred spirits from the get go. 😁 6y
gradcat I know, right? Plus, the tattoo thing...when I was young I made three rules for myself: NO mortgages; NO marriages; NO tattoos...and I‘ve kept that up! I realize the first two don‘t apply to you, but tattoos? Everybody (except you & me, it seems) has a tattoo or two. I‘m not against them, I think some of them are so cool—it‘s just, for me, (obs)—nothing permanent 😂😂😂 6y
sixgun I've only been able to make good on the tattoo one. I've failed miserably on the others. 😝 But, my husband has no piercings or tattoos either. His mother told him when he left for the Corps he absolutely could not get either. He's still scared. 6y
tpixie @sixgun lol yes I'm so surprised how easily I can tire now! 6y
gradcat Your hubby must be a good guy...it‘s only right that he should be scared of his mother! 😂👵🏻😱 6y
sixgun @gradcat I'm admittedly scared of her too! LOL 6y

I did this about a year ago, but we‘ve gotten so many new people that @LibrarianRyan suggested we do it again and tag new Littens. Great idea! #20ThingsAboutMe @hhavel @fangirl.way @Ericalambbrown @kaitlynvazquez3404 @holdmybookmark @LWagoner

Krisjericho Which Winter Olympics did you go to? I got to see the figure skating short program in 2002 because it was in Salt Lake that year and I live in Utah. 6y
Lcsmcat @Krisjericho I lived in Utah on 2002 and got to go with my daughter‘s class to see ski jumping. We were standing at the base of the slope on about a meter of packed snow. It was so cold! 6y
Lcsmcat @LauraBeth Isn‘t it funny?! 6y

It‘s time for some introductions, people! @LibrarianRyan started us off and a bunch of folks are playing along. So follow the tag and get to know us.

THEN join in and tell us a little about you. Making a graphic is easy. Good apps are Vanillapen, Open, PicCollage. Or write your 20 on a piece of paper and take a photo! Have fun with it! Please tag me too.

Amiable I'm intrigued by #19. I'd love to stop coloring my hair and go natural, but I'm still afraid to do it. I'm 51. I'm not sure when I'll be ready. 😬 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Amiable I have lots of advice—should be a silver hair coach! I started to go grey at 18, and colored until I was 90% gray. There are a lot of things you and your colorist can do to ease the transition. And, hey, grey is the IN hair color right now. No better time to try. Here‘s a good book about it too. 6y
Kaye I like grey hair. Always thought it was pretty. I‘d never dye mine. I can‘t believe The number of ladies that ask how I‘m so brave to let my hair stay grey. I don‘t think it takes bravery. I just wash it and comb it and wa-la. It‘s grey. (edited) 6y

BarbaraTheBibliophage @kaye I agree. Grey hair doesn‘t take bravery. So many other things in life are more difficult. It‘s just shifting your mind to acceptance. 6y
Kaye I dont like the idea that men look distinguished when their hair gets grey but ladies are expected to keep dying theirs. (edited) 6y
LiteraryinPA It‘s nice to learn more about you, Barbara! How does your neurological condition affect you, if you don‘t mind my asking? 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @kaye Yaaas! That‘s just dumb. 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @LiteraryinLititz I had a surgery to ease the symptoms, but they were pain at the back of my head, migraines, and lots of vertigo. Since the surgery, everything is vastly improved. The condition is called Chiari malformation. There are many possible symptoms, but those were mine. Thanks for asking! 6y
SailorMoon I'm really sorry to read about pt7... I'm sending you love and good thoughts, although I know they can't do much! As for the rest, I'm really curious of knowing your sons' names!!! And the title of your self-published book!!! 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @SailorMoon Thank you for the love and good thoughts. Our sons are Jeremy, Dustin, Randall, and Trevor—in birth order from oldest to youngest. Here‘s my book 6y
LibrarianRyan 👍🏻😁🤓 6y

BeansPage @TK421 I like the way you think Sir 😋 6y
