Hemphill was very creative in telling about the life of Sylvia Plath.
Each section contained facts about Plath and then a poem imagining what the people in Sylvia's life might have been thinking and feeling at the time.
Many of Hemphill's poems were written in the style of Plath's poems.
Very unique! I loved it.

pickI finished listening to this whole grading some truly terrible 8th grade research papers today. I haven‘t read much of Sylvia Plath‘s work, but this book made me want to rectify that.
Toddlers and babies really limit what I can do with these readathons... so far I‘ve been able to sneak in about 3.5 hours of reading and #audiocrochet for the #24in48

Sylvia one posted earlier in the week by @erzascarletbookgasm and I hadn‘t heard of it, so had to have it obviously....
And the kids are desperate to read the other one!

This is a book of poetry, inspired by the life of Plath; some from the point of view of various people in her life and some in the style of Plath's own poems. It‘s an interesting introduction to Plath's life, and makes a good companion to The Bell Jar, I think (which I haven‘t read!).
pickNice quick summer read! It may be fictional but it paints a beautiful picture of Sylvia Plath through verse based on her life.
