great second (and final?) book in the series. for some reason it took me a few initial chapters to get into it - but was great once i did!

Incredibly compelling conclusion for the complicated, wonderful & at times infuriating characters in the Dreamblood Duology. When danger, war, & a plague of nightmares loom. Even the smallest act of peace is a blessing upon the world.

Book #4 of the year: “The Shadowed Sun” by NK Jemisin
This is the second book in the Dreamblood series and it‘s at least twice as good as the first. This one was faster paced and more engaging. I loved it, definitely recommend.
A great, fantastic adventure. I really liked the relationship between the Prince and the female Sharer. The war was thrilling -souls were fought over. Like the first novel, a father is the evil tormentor- his children were abused and used as weapons. #AuthorAMonth @Soubhiville
Highly enjoyable, interesting magic system, compelling characters.
This is a great wrap to the “Dreamblood” duology. Jemisin never disappoints. I‘m looking forward to her new book this month.
Even though I just bought book one, and haven't read it yet, I couldn't pass this up when I stumbled across it. I hope book one is good.
This is definitely not my favorite series by NK Jemisin. It‘s a little slow and the world is not as interesting as some of her others. But its still a solid pick, and very thought provoking! Triggers for child abuse.
Thank you for this cool #ManicMonday challenge, @JoScho 😎

This was an incredible conclusion to the duology. Strong characters who grew on me through the course of the book, more of this fascinating cultural and magical world-building, and interesting politics. It seemed a slightly slow pace but I also have been in a weird reading mood so that might just have been my mood.
Well that's it folks. I've finished N.K. Jemisin's backlist and must now wait impatiently for The Stone Sky to be published on August 15th 😤
I just picked up the last book I need to read from N.K. Jemisin's backlist and I'm STOKED. I love the first book in this duology and cannot wait to start 🤗 #fantasy #nkjemisin
My book haul from the library's used book sale 😁 My Mom went to the same sale and came back with two bags of books 🤗
😖
Had to take a moment after this line.
💀
N.K. Jemisin is not messing around.
😂
A satisfying companion novel to The Killing Moon that picks up on previous characters while still introducing new ones. A solid conclusion to the duology.
This was so good!! I love Hanani in particular. I'm getting to the end of the N. K. Jemisin books that I haven't read though, only 1 left 🙁
"She was heartily sick of people speaking to her as though she could not understand the implications of her own actions." Oh man I didn't think I could possibly love N. K. Jemisin's characters more but it keeps happening.
#photoadaynov16 #novembertbr I'm excited for all of these!!! I'm reading The Shadowed Sun first though, since I'm already 1/2 way through. It's so good so far!! 😊
#stormageddon, the most well read cat in Pittsburgh, is enjoying book two in NK Jemisin's Dreamblood Duology. He is wondering if cats are allowed to serve Hananja... #stormythewellreadcat #bookworm #bookcat
