A few days late but it is that kind of week.
so-soI thought the first ten or so chapters were engaging & kept the attention well, but when it started to devolve more into a 'shoot-em up' ending, it became a little generic. Overall it was an entertaining read in its genre, but will I remember it in detail in 10 years? Not sure, but if it doesn't make you give smart cars a wider berth & side-eye your toaster, you haven't been paying attention. 3⭐

Ive slowed waaaay down this year compared to last. Having trouble finding my reading groove. 😕
Anyway. Not sure how I feel about this book. I think in more normal times when 4,000 of my country people were't dying every day and genuine fear for the collapse of the government wasn't looming I'd probably enjoy it quite a bit. As it stands, a robotic uprising killing most of the world's population hit a bit close.
Littens!!!! It‘s been so long! How are you? What are you reading? I‘m reading this my Indigenous Futurism class. About a year ago I switched grad schools and now I am taking classes online with Texas Tech. This book is a page turner! I‘ve missed you guys!
so-soGood. That about sums it up. Neither here nor there for me. Not sure if I'll read the 2nd book. This book may have ended any chance of that happening. Just hasn't done enough to want me coming back for more.
This is the last book I read with a #nonhumancharacter. A sentient AI, Archos, starts a war between machines and humans. A decent sci-fi read!

pickMy first finished book of the new year! I‘m not a huge sci-fi reader but I did enjoy this one! In the not-too-distant future, all the machines rebel against humans and the war that follows is told through various documents. I listened to the audio and thought the narrator did a decent job.

pickI have only a few science fiction books under my belt and this one is the best so far.
so-soThis was engaging and fun, but not particularity insightful or original. The "collection of documents" format felt forced and unnecessary. I listened to the audio book, and I think I might have looked the book better with a different narrator.
Just finished up with this Sci-Fi thriller. Very graphic and realistic. The technology springing to life was chilling. Maybe because it‘s so realistic and parallels current tech including self-driving cars...goosebumps.

OMG the library of the future is here! Anyone seen the BookBot library system at NCSU? Wow. But it unnerves me to some extreme that none of the books are in order! Only scanned into bins and indexed - ugh! And has no one thought about how we get to these books when the EMP hits?

Reading this for my book club. It's actually a re-read for me. I read it years ago when it first came out and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately it's not a book I ever planned on re-reading and I'm dragging my feet to get it done. I mean, it's good. If you haven't read it and you like futuristic thrillers, it's fun! It just isn't a book that needs a second go-round, know what I mean? Okay. 50 pages to power through. Here I go!

This was a great, intense read, and I almost gave up my cell phone after reading it.
Really, the title says it all. It might even be a Steven Spielberg movie soon, or it might stall in production again, who knows?

First in a series, it's about the robots in the world turning on humanity. What makes this unique, it seems to me, is that the author has a PhD in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon, so he's coming to this with some gravitas. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎
pickYes this is a hackneyed concept, robots rise up to kill all humans. However this book makes this idea far more terrifying than anyone other than the author could ever imagine. Seriously this will scare the bejesus out of you and have you doubting Siri's intentions.
pickAs you can see from the back drop, Pluto is a big fan of Sci-fi. This book is just that. Written from several different accounts of people in a war against robots, the story pulls through each one. If you liked World War Z, this book has a very similar vibe.
Birthday present (and recommendation) from my sister. Less than 100 pages in and loving it.
