Black Panther reinvented as a sharp and witty political satire? Believe it! T'Challa is the man with the plan, as Christopher Priest puts the emphasis on the Wakandan king's reputation as the ultimate statesman, as seen through the eyes of the U.S. government's Everett K. Ross. As the Panther investigates a murder in New York, Ross plays Devil's Advocate in an encounter with Mephisto, and a new regime seizes control in Wakanda. COLLECTING Black Panther (1998) 1-17

I haven't read alot of Marvel comics, so wasn't too excited when a friend recommended it. I was free on Amazon Prime.....and I'm actually enjoying the humorous comparisons to music, and the graphics are outrageously good!

Audio-booking in the car while waiting for my daughter to come out of the movie. An alum from her high school bought out the theater for a private showing for a group of students. How awesome is that?! This view just feels very Black Panther/super hero movie to me. Listening to White Tears while I wait. #TOB18

8little_paws WHITE TEARS 6y
Lola @8little_paws Did you read it? Did you love it? Did you talk about it at Roscoe last week? (I couldn‘t make it ☹️) 6y
8little_paws @Lola I wasn't there either but will be for sure in March 15th. I LOVE this book. 6y
Lola @8little_paws Can‘t wait to see you and discuss! (Fingers crossed that I can make the 15th!🤞🏻) 6y

Watching movie trailers with my fiancee. These are my most anticipated movies for next year. Most especially Black Panther, I'm so excited for that I'm planning on seeing it in theatre, and I am not a person who likes going to the movies. I've read all of these except Ready Player One.

Gezemice I am reading those, too! Ready player one is one of the most fun books I have ever read. I recommend it! 6y
GrilledCheeseSamurai The Alita trailer was AWESOME! I'm going to the bookstore tomorrow to pick up the first volume. So excited for Wrinkle in time too, Black Panther and Ready Player one are also drool worthy. Great picks! 👍 6y
WarpedSweetness @Gezemice Ready Player One is on my TBR. I've heard really good things about so I really cannot wait to read it! 6y

WarpedSweetness @GrilledCheeseSamurai All those trailers looked amazing! I've already read Battle Angel and A Wrinkle in Time way back when I was a kid, but I plan on rereading them. I'll probably reread Black Panther too. 6y
GrilledCheeseSamurai I used to read Wrinkle in time to kids while on canoe trips back in my camp counsellor days. 😊 6y
Skyrimir I just heard about Alita yesterday. Is it a book or graphic novel? I didn‘t know it was based on anything. It looks pretty awesome! I‘m excited about the others too. 6y
WarpedSweetness @GrilledCheeseSamurai I've already read the first book; I want to read the rest. I hope the kids enjoyed it! I used to get restless when I was read aloud to, because I wanted to read myself. Lol 6y
WarpedSweetness @Skyrimir It is a manga, and was also an anime. The manga was really good! It was published in English under the name Battle Angel Alita. 6y
Scurvygirl Ready Player One and Wrinkle in Time are on watch list! 6y
Drnkpnkprincess I‘m trying to get both a wrinkle in time and ready player one read before they come out. 🤞🏼🤞🏼 (edited) 6y
TK421 YES! I loved Battle Angel Alita! I just watched the trailer and it looks great! 6y
WarpedSweetness @Scurvygirl Wrinkle in Time looks great, and I love Mindy Kaling! @Drnkpnkprincess I plan on buying myself a copy of each in February. I want to read them before I see the movies. @TK421 I did too! I'm so excited. 6y

Well the #24in48 was a bust for me. I managed about 6 hours overall and had many hiccups along the way such as no headphones and my phone running out of battery at work whilst trying to time my reading. These are the books I wanted to read but had no chance of getting too but can hopefully read for the #diverseathon instead. I've never timed my reading before and tbh I found it kinda stressful, I tend to need time in-between books but felt

Weaponxgirl Pressure to keep reading. I noticed then even when I thought before I was reading straight I'm often stopping to do something else. Saying that I think I'll take part in another readathon as long as I don't have work and plenty of palate cleanser books and comics to read between other books 7y
Aquedita Didn't do #24in48 since I was travelling & visiting a friend. I'm all in for #diverseathon :) Will post daily updates on Litsy. 7y
Weaponxgirl @Aquedita I know that for nextime if I'm working no readathon for me. I'm looking forward to your picks for the #diverseathon 😀 7y

Aquedita @Weaponxgirl Already published them on my blog: www.aquedita.eu. Currently reading "Difficult Women" and "The Sellout". 6h train journey ahead... 7y
Weaponxgirl @Aquedita ouch on that many train journeys! I'm still reading difficult women slowly, may start some poetry and a graphic novel tonight though. 7y
Aquedita @Weaponxgirl It's ok, got a chance to spend a lovely weekend and read with a magnificent view of the mountains so totally worth it :) Trying to focus and not to fall asleep. Gotta use that time for books! 7y
Weaponxgirl @Aquedita that sounds wonderful! I'm in Norfolk in the uk, it's so bloody flat. I find mountains and even hills so impressive and beautiful 7y
Cinfhen I totally agree, I did not find reading with a stopwatch really enjoyable 🙄I was glad to participate but will not be doing it again😕 7y
Weaponxgirl @Cinfhen I'm glad I participated too as I've never really thought about how I read before. My satisfaction comes from seeing progress in a book and I like to stop and think about what I read as I'm going. I think reading with a timer would be better suited to very plot driven books rather than the more thinky stuff I've been reading recently 7y
Cinfhen Yea, I found I was more speed reading, which makes no sense because the clock ticks the same whether or not I go fast or slow 😜 7y
Weaponxgirl @Cinfhen yup, lol. 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa Mine went about the same! But I keep joining them and trying anyway. 7y
Weaponxgirl @Riveted_Reader_Melissa way to go. Life does tend to get in the way of reading doesn't it? 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Weaponxgirl Yes! Saturday was pretty much a family drama crazy day. If only I didn't love them so much, LOL! 7y
Ubookquitous Yes, I found splitting up the type of reading material helped... If something was heavy or slow going, I'd switch off. But, I do time most of my reading (which is how I know I'm relatively slow for fiction.) 7y
