Beautifully written story of a respected artist suffering from bipolar disorder & her family. I loved the structure, each chapter headed with a curator‘s note on a piece of her art, then a vignette from the corresponding time in her life, told from the perspective of one of the family members. The Cornish setting & the musings on Quaker ideas added texture to the story. I‘ve not read Gale before, but I will be seeking out his other books soon.
