vivastory I was watching an interesting 3 part video on YouTube last night hosted by city lights about the tagged book. I only made it through about half of the first part, a conversation between the author and Alberto Manuel, but plan on watching the rest eventually

I visited 3 out of the 7 bookstores on my San Fran list this afternoon. Starting with City Lights Books where I got this haul.

What book buying ban?! 😆😆😆 In my defense, this is the first time in 2 years I‘ve been able to go into an English-language bookstore.

2: No. I might have one book on my mind when I go, but sometimes I don‘t even get the original book. Instead, I‘ll get something that seems more interesting. I‘m a browser.

#fortheloveofbookmarks day 21 #postcards I use postcards as bookmarks & find them in used books . The Joyce & Yeats are from the Dublin Writers Museum.I picked up the City Lights when I was there.I ordered from Vromans in these pandemic times , they included this postcard in the shipment of books.Caffe Trieste is old & very close to City Lights, the Beats had coffee there.I hope to get back there someday.

arubabookwoman My CityLights story: In 1969 before we were married I was returning to college after visiting my parents in Singapore and my boyfriend, now husband, was going to summer school at Stanford, so I stopped in SF for a visit. We went to CityLights, much smaller than it is now (more like a hole-in-the-wall) and Ferlinghetti was sitting in the back reading. I wish I had been brave enough to have him sign the 2 poetry books of his I bought. 5y
