This was my first 'The book was so much better than the movie' experience. I remember watching the movie and thinking 'this can't be the same thing as that book I read.' #TheBookIsAlwaysBetter

Read this a year before the movie came out. Don‘t think I need to say it but #TheBookWasBetter 😁

💃BF says Ferris Bueller. I'll go with Adina in The Elixir of Love.
😎 Fast Times. I accidentally quote it nearly every day. I'm Mr. Hand, btw. ✋
🌞 Sunbathing. Old fashioned roasting in the sun as a child. Glorious.

I didn‘t know Fast Times at Ridgemont High was a book for a few years after I saw the movie. For a few years after that I tried hard to find the book, but I was never successful. #didyouknowbooktoscreen
i liked it. characters and stories very similar to the movie. supposedly it's all true, which is scary! #LitsyRC16
Happy early birthday Liberty!! I hope you have fun 📚🎂📚🍰📚! This book was a gift from my sister for my 17th birthday ...a very long time ago 😱. We did get to see the movie soon after 😊. #LIBERTHDAY
( @Cinfhen funny you mentioned this just yesterday!)
#90sinJuly #CaliforniaLove It's only through Litsy that I discovered one of my favorite movies was actually a book 😊I think I have @ValerieAndBooks to thank...I'm also a huge fan of 2pac so I have @Robothugs to thank for today's earworm 👂🏼🐛🎤🎶
I have mixed feelings about this book. I admire Cameron Crowe for researching and writing it. The writing was excellent. It was a gentle easy read, but as a story, I think it worked far better as a movie. The movie had the 'physicalness' that the book lacked. It is worth the read for the clever structure that gave the feeling of a complete school year.
This has been on my TBR pile for most of the year. Its time has come 🏄🏻♀️🚌🏣
Spent all night re-living my HS years with this. Hit this last chapter at 2am. Crowe was pitch-perfect depicting teen life back then (at 20yo, he went incognito there in '79, hard to do today). Yes a lot of talk about sex and trying to have it. I have to figure out how to glue the pages back in, they kept falling out as I read 😰. A copy is now >$100. But Crowe's site has excerpts: http://www.theuncool.com/books/fast-times-at-ridgemont-high/
Books about #innocence -- my very first thought went to this book. All the characters were so keen on losing their innocence. My sister gave this to me on my 17th birthday back in 1982 (I know because of her inscription inside). It's way better than the movie. And now I can't help but re-read and be sucked back into the lives of Linda, Stacy, Brad, Jeff Spicoli, etc. I wish I still had my checkerboard VANS from HS. @TheSpinecrackersBookClub
