The Julius House: An Aurora Teagarden Mystery | Charlaine Harris
13 posts | 48 read | 13 to read
Fourth in Charlaine Harris's acclaimed Aurora Teagarden mystery series. Wealthy businessman Martin Bartell gives Aurora exactly what she wants for their wedding: Julius House. But both the house and Martin come with murky pasts. And when Roe is attacked by an ax-wielding maniac, she realizes that the secrets inside her four walls-and her brand-new marriage-could be deadly...

This 4th book in the Aurora Teagarden series was a bit disappointing. Most of the book is about Roe‘s adjustment to being married and renovating her new home - The Julius House. There is a side plot line that ends up not going anywhere - I can only assume it will be used in future books. The mystery doesn‘t really begin until more than half of the book is over, and it was predictable and somewhat unreaelistic. ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 ❤️📚 #serieslove2023

Once again a most enjoyable book in the Aurora Teagarden series. It‘s always a little jarring when a story turns out to be a little dated. I‘m used to reading books where there are no cell phones and people wonder if it‘s going to be a regular phone or a push button phone. But Roe‘s new husband, Martin, is a 45-year-old Vietnam veteran who finished his tour of duty in Vietnam in 1971. I think this book was first published in 1992. Enjoyable story!

This one was good. I am really loving this series. It‘s a quick and easy not gory kind of series. A series I can put on audio book while cleaning. (Sorry if you think that‘s cheating but with two little kids you get your reading done where you can).

Here‘s my poor little pumpkin. Painting pumpkins was harder than I thought it would be, and next time I need to plan for more time to dedicate to it. Also finished The Julius House (team theme book). 🎃📖👻 #teamslaughter #scarathlon @Clwojick @TheReadingMermaid @MrBook

Another in the Aurora Teagarden series. Even though they are so so books I can‘t stop reading them.

It took me less than 2 days to finish this book! I've been sick lately and there is nothing like a good book and a hot drink to make you feel better.

Now if the person that keeps taking the next copy before me on Libby could read a little faster, that'd be great. Yes, I'm that asshole that went ahead and requested the next book after the one I'm waiting for so I have them both available to me soon. 😂😂

It‘s been a while! Can definitely tell term has started once again! #teacher #problems

Mug of tea and new light read to ease me back into it gently. Plus some light censoring on my not appropriate for work mug 🤭 #rupaul #dragrace

This is getting out of hand. Three books in three days.

How many more consecutive nights can I stay up way past my bedtime just to finish the next Aurora Teagarden book?

Well on the upside, with today's release of All the Little Liars, there are only 5 more books in the series.

But on the downside, there are only 5 more books in the series.

BibliophileMomma That's exactly how it was when I read them. ☺️ I forgot about the new one coming out. 8y
LauraBrook I was the same way too, just gobbled them up once a day like book vitamins. Waiting for my library to finalize their copy so I can pick up the new one! 8y

Less gentle and more of a traditional murder mystery this time. No idea who did it, either! That's always a nice surprise. But I still don't understand why Roe stays married to Martin. *shrug*
