Sylvia Pankhurst- all round social justice Queen
Professor Tara Shears- first female professor of Physics at University of Liverpool- took 108 years. I did a women in leadership programme with her before she was a professor 👇🏻

Very mixed feelings about this one. Not a huge fan of the author but tried not to let that bias my opinion of her work. The premise of the book is utterly admirable but I'm not convinced the writing does it justice. It's just a little bit waffly (technical literary term there!) It is evidently well researched & interesting even so but also a bit shallow. And Margaret Thatcher will NEVER be bloody brilliant in my eyes! (Rant over!)

This book delivers what was promised. If not heard of most of the women and stories told. It's sectioned by timeline rather than by person which allowed for a better flow I suppose but sometimes made it unclear which woman we were supposed to be thinking was bloody brilliant at any given time.

I‘m loving all these #internationalwomensday posts so thought I‘d share just a tiny percentage of my kindle books that are to with with women. Issues we face and how damn amazing they are!

Reading this in the bath today. It's not what I expected, it's much more a historical book than just about different women. Really good so far, I feel like I'm learning a lot

Sometimes it can seem as if women have been airbrushed out of history, but this book is an excellent starting point for anyone wishing to remedy the lack of focus on female achievements.

From some of the less well known suffragettes to the MPs of today, the author looks at the changing lives of women since the Enlightenment. Rating: 5 🌟
