Another excellent book in this series, which seems to be getting better and better as the series progresses. This was a much more in-depth and complex book than the early ones in the series. The best book so far. Anyone doing #ReadingAfrica2022 this takes in Nigeria.

Stephen, a six-year-old boy, has vanished, his mother and grandmother horrifically murdered. At the scene forensic scientist Rhona MacLeod finds a chilling African talisman, made from the bones of a child. Can she decipher its meaning and track Stephen down before he becomes the next link in the killers' chain?
In between pick and so-so. It can be a gruesome thing to read about for many, FGM and juju in some Nigerian tribes. Very graphic. Rhona and Sean learn surprising things about each other. An OK read all in all, but didn‘t feel it was on par with the previous books in the series. Looking forward to the next one!
