This was fine. I was expecting the poetry to add more to the book rather than just be more line breaks than normal, and I don‘t think it really managed that. The plot was fine, I can‘t summon much to say about it good or bad, but I was rubbed the wrong way by the many male characters who got names and the female lead being ‘the girl‘. Sigh.

If I get halfway through your book and everyone has a name except the main woman (who is just called "the girl"), well, the rest of what's going on better be pretty damn impressive. (Spoiler: I ain't impressed.)

I am excited to finally read the werewolf poetry novel, but I am immediately wary of this "one woman that everyone is obsessed with" situation.

I took a book to the creek but got distracted by the beer, the boys and the turtle the dogs found.

90% off used books at Hastings. I got all these for $3.20 😍 Sad they are closing tho...

I wasn't sure if I would like this one since it's written in free verse, but it's so good! The story and the stripped down verse sucked me in. A noir fantasy romance: dog catcher falls in love with a werewolf packs' female member. Bizarre in all the right ways.
