#BeautifulWords #Brood May be a beautiful word although not sure the Plantagenets were a beautiful brood! Don‘t rile them whatever you do, just ask Thomas Beckett.
This is a wonderful book for those that like historical fiction, a favourite author.

I've only read half of this one but there was definitely a lot of familial troubles - sons vs fathers; wives vs husbands and of course subjects vs the King.
The #bookishquestionoftheweek was broken, so I fixed it. You're welcome. 😂🤣😂🤣
My list is long, but the top ten are Sharon Kay Penman, Pierce Brown, John Sandford, Daniel Silva, Ausma Zehanat Khan, Penny Reid, Jane Austen, J.K. Rowling, Elizabeth Peters, and Ernest Hemingway.

Best family saga ever - Henry II and Eleanor and their offspring!!

Fab set of siblings in here 😀
I play them all in my mind like the actors in The Lion in Winter, what a film!
WOW is all I can say. Queen Victoria was such a mighty figure. So staunchly far ahead in a lot of her thinking and ways and yet, still very "Victorian" in others. Wonderful biography being as writing it was kind of hard as so much information had been deliberately destroyed by others.
#fictionnonfiction The wonderful Plantagenets. I'm slightly obsessed by them.
There are many stories of dysfunctional royal families across the ages. These are my favourite! Henry II, Eleanor, Richard I and John et al 😀 If you love history Shaton K Penman is brilliant!! #dysfunctionalfamily
I am very interested in this time period. Eleanor and Henry were such tragic people. Their family gives sibling rivalry a whole new meaning.
So what then? We just watch as Hal gallops headlong for the cliffs edge? What am I supposed to do, Eleanor? How do I reach him? She found herself blinking back tears. You must let him go, Harry. Even if he goes over that Cliff, you have to set him free
@Litsy Families don't get much more dysfunctional than this. #24in48 #readathon
