Crystalblu I also think there is a difference between series like the Sookie Stackhouse books, each book being one into itself but also part of a huge story, and books with cliffhangers! 7y

Bookladylinda I usually read as the series goes along. If there is a long time between books, I will listen to the previous one again as a refresher. 7y

mangokittty I have no problem reading an incomplete series. I‘ll sometimes even pick up a random book see it‘s the 3rd in a series I‘ve never read and go, “Oh well, let‘s start with this one!” 7y

the-flashley I usually wait until after, but pretty often that's just because I didn't know about the series until all of the books were already out. There have been a few cases where I've followed along, though. 7y

rjsthumbelina I almost never finish a series! I don't like endings. If I never read the last book in the series, then the world is still open to me. I'm aware that it makes no sense, but I'm no good at goodbye. It's not even a conscious decision most times, I just don't get to the last one, and (most of the time) am not bothered by it, bc I can see the story as still in progress 7y

kezzlou85 I like to wait so you can read them all in one go but sometimes it's too hard to wait. 7y

minkyb I have many series that I read that are currently ongoing so I read the newest and then wait which is not fun. If I find a new series to read I must research and start with book 1 unless it hasn‘t been translated. I never start mid series. If I am lucky I don‘t find out about a great series until they are all published. That happened with Justin Cronin and VE Schwab most recently! 7y

Siannalyn I read usually in two languages, italian (my mothertongue) and english, but if I try hard I can read in a third one too (romanian), but I am too lazy for it, usually! 7y

SpeculativeFemale Just English for me. I probably could manage French if I did a quick refresher course and kept a French to English dictionary nearby for the hard parts, but that's more work than I'm likely to put in anytime soon, LOL. 7y

La_Cori I can read in Italian (my mother tongue) and English.. In highschool I studied French and Spanish too (and some Latin), so I can still understand something but it's complicated with a whole book! 7y
