#FabulousFebruary is the motivation I needed to finish a bunch of books that I had started.

Morgan‘s life is fundamentally changed when a distraught woman begs her to take her baby and then jumps in front of a train. As the police focus their investigation on Morgan; she races to find out what could have led to this tragic end.

This was an okay read; I found all the characters were more like caricatures and frankly annoying.

Today‘s plans; too bad work is in the way. 🤓

Escaping Monday…

Excellent page-turner with great characters. The only downside is that the end was predictable.

A bit too contrived for my liking. When I read a mystery or thriller, I want it to come together at the end in a way that makes sense. This was not that. 😒

I‘ve been the worst at posting my update lately. My schedule is still messed up, but I‘ll get back into the swing of things soon! 😅 Here is my progress so far for #Slaughterthon! So far I‘ve ringed in about 19 hours.

Another amazing book, couldn‘t put it down and by a Canadian author. I have read many a suspense books in my life and a lot of the time I can usually put together what happened half way through, but woman on the edge kept me guessing.

If you‘re looking for a thriller that is full of clichés and characters who repeatedly make bad decisions, Woman on the Edge is for you. Unfortunately, that is not what I was looking for so I found this book tedious, ridiculous, and overall, unenjoyable.

It‘s been awhile since I posted anything on here since it‘s been very hard for me to read since the Pandemic hit, my anxiety has had me feeling antsy and hard to sit down and focus on my reading. I haven‘t read as much as I hoped to have read this year but I have read a few amazing books. Women on the Edge was the last book I read and I couldn‘t put it down. I will make a post about it in another post, but it‘s a must read.

Nicole gave her baby to a stranger seconds before jumping to her death. The story evolves around two strong female characters. Unfortunately I understood how the story would unfold pretty early on. Perhaps from reading too many books of the same genre. Still an interesting read.

A solid thriller that really hooks you as soon as you open the book and leaves you hooked until the end. The two main characters Morgan and Nicole were well developed and you really felt for both of them. I found the male characters to come off cliche but it didn‘t slow the action of the plot. I read this book in 2 days. I would read another thriller by the author. This would make a good movie.

I'm giving it a pick, even though I had some issues. I think it would have been better to read it. I wasn't fond of the narration.

Meh. It had so much potential. But the unreliable narrator was just so unreliable. Her crazy was just too crazy. And it was so predictable. The writing felt messy. It could have used more editing maybe. It was a quick and easy read though.

I‘m waiting for our property manager to arrive. Sometime between 8am and 4pm. Why can‘t they ever give you a smaller window? Waiting makes me anxious. But I have books!

This was a pretty good one. I read it in less than 24hours, it was fast paced & I had a hard time stopping. Generally well written, however, I wanted more character development and a deeper mystery (I pegged it pretty fast). It wrapped up too quick for me. It‘s a short read at only 260 pages, but it was a fun thriller with a positive ending that makes you believe in fighting a good fight for second chances. #womanontheedge #firstbookof2020

If you like Psychological suspense, you need to read this book. It was so good for a debut. There are a lot of twists and turns. Came out in November.

The story is told in chapters from both Morgan and Nicole‘s perspectives, in the present day and the weeks leading up to the event at the station. Does she have postpartum depression or is the memory of events 19 years ago affecting Nicole more than she realises?

This really is incredibly tense, it really brings alive the panic and disorientation of Nicole and will leave you breathless. Emotional, fast paced with some brilliantly twisty moments.

In this explosive novel, one of the women is struggling with her grief and the desire to become a mother, the other is struggling with becoming a mother and the overwhelming desire to protect her child. The character descension and strong pacing ratchet up the tension. It is cleverly delivered in short, suspenseful chapters. With the speed of a train, this incredible debut comes careening down the tracks. It is exhilarating, tense, and consuming.
