pickA witty, clever read with colourful characters that really draws you in. I loved the blend of old historical London with its connections to the slave trade, very enigmatic and meaningful. The central Villainess was infuriatingly brilliantly awful. Definitely worth a read.

I once paid three shillings for what he insisted was a volume of bawdy poems, only to discover, when I unwrapped the parcel at home, that I had bought a collection of sermons by the Bishop of Gloucester. Some villainies cannot be forgiven.
